How can I use audio receiver to receive output from a multi output chain selector? When I put it on other inst/audio tracks, there is no routing options for the multi out! Edit, SOLVED: It was because the instrument tracks are also routed to feed midi to Kontakt. When I changed the routing to not be midi to Kontakt 8, the routing options became visible! :o So it seems I need to have two sets of inst tracks, one for midi to Kontakt, and ones for audio from kontakt to inst/audio track. :o Also, the Audio receiver tracks cant be in the same folder (in a Audio named sub folder) with the Kontakt, or the routing options are not shown :o

This doesn't work with polyphony. It's fine until I introduce a second note, then it stutters like crazy, trying to match the other notes expression. MPE works within the VST (phaseplant) but as soon as I use the Expression modulator through bitwig, and play more than one note, I get wild stuttering as the knob moves erratically. It works perfectly when playing one note and it works in the VST... smoothing is turned on and there's no information online about this.

yes. the vst plugin standard doesnt expose voice to the automation parameters. thats why they invented clap. the expression modulator works with polyphony only on bitwig devices and clap plugins.

no that i know of. the vst standard is just not made for this. if you want to use vst, you have to rely on the tools the vst plugin gives you :)

So I had the 8 track Bitwig version which came with a midi keyboard. I tried these out and found them to be relatively good, has a drum machine, recognized all the MIDI devices I have, etc. It also has a lot of good integrated effects, etc. BUT it can't do simple things, which is why I switched back to Reaper. For example, if I create a new project in Reaper and set BPM to 90. Every sample I listen to then runs directly at 90 bpm. I can load it straight in and it fits perfectly and of course it pitches slower or faster samples correctly. I couldn't imagine how important this feature was to me until I missed it. I produce more than anything else and this is such a great feature. Second, navigation. I throw half a tantrum every time I scroll at Bitwig. In Reaper I select a loop and everything is good. In Bitwig I always have this magnifying glass in the scrollbar and somehow everything is constantly getting bigger or smaller. This is so extremely annoying, I can't even describe how disabling it is. Maybe I'm just using Bitwig wrong, but it's just not intuitive. How can something like scrollbars just screw up so badly?
@frostmarke
@frostmarke 15 күн бұрын
And I looked in Bitwig for settings etc. that would change this behavior, but unfortunately I couldn't find anything. Of course it's different with Reaper, where you can set any crap. Sometimes it's just too much, but it's better to have too much than not at all

This is not a hater comment, I bought Bitwig Studio because in the first impression it recognized all MiDi devices and had a lot of features, including many effects. DrumMachine etc. But I currently prefer Reaper with Atlas Algonaut 2. Just feels easier and more intuitive

"I'm a musician not a technician". Bra, I've seen what you can do in the Grid. I think the Saturator is a little bit intimidating to most users due to the additional knobs unlike conventional saturators. I'm just curious, why use the Saturator when with Transfer you can just draw the curves?

I just wish Bitwig had native time stretching in the Sampler. It's crazy to me the most other DAWS have this basic feature and while Bitwig is light years ahead of everyone else with it's workflow and features, this basic feature is sadly lacking. It opens up SO many potential uses cases without these terrible sounding workarounds :( I've purchased Serato sample top do just this exact thing which is fantastic, but I'd love it to be a part of Bitwig itself in upcoming updates, maybe in a sample+ update if we ever got one :P

So interesting experiments! It is incredible that Bitwig's TheGrid allows using one type of signals as inputs or outputs of the module work as another type most of cases! I think if they implement the module when you can write your raw code, maybe with restrictions and in simple scripting language, i think than TheGrid will become most powerfull and same time easy to use modular studio.

Is there a workaround to get the macro knob modulation depth working in a relative way? For example i want to modulate the filter cutroff, the cutoff parameter is set to 1 KHz, I assign the macro knob to the cutoff parameter and adjust the modulation depth so that when the macro knob is turned to 100% then the cutoff is at 100% or 20 KHz. But when I turn the cutoff knob to let's say 5 KHz and then turn the Macro knob, 20 KHz of cutoff is reached way before the macro knob is at 100%. But i want macro knob at 100% = Cutoff at 100%, no matter where the cutoff knob is set.

allpas is actually a delay line with a feedforward and feedback gain coefficient , they are then summed at the output . result : it's a diffuser delay line. If it would ony have one feedback coeeficient , it would be a comb filter . All these are related and are the basic building blocks for reverbs

this doesn't work as far as i can tell, it simply won't "learn" whatever knob i'm twiddling and correctly assigning it to the appropriate cc doesn't work either. the same controller works perfectly when assigned to say a track fader outside of a midi modulator, but inside the midi modulator, absolutely nothing?
@maebeans
@maebeans 6 ай бұрын
as a workaround you can add a macro modulator, right click on the knob and select "map to controller or key" in order to bind that knob to your cc.

The relative keytrack thing and being able to put in root note straight away is missing from the basic Keyplus, which is a bummer for trying to replicate some tutorials which only use the old Keytrack module. :l Seems cool otherwise still though. :)

a very sophisticated modulator, very useful, but what's weird: when i select Timebase="sec" with 1 second and then set the Pitch on OSC1 down to eg. -12st, it increases to +12st instead of -12st, version 5.1 Build 2023-12-06

Bitwig doesn't do simple pitch shifting where you simply speed the audio clip up. Everything but the kitchen sink but no simple pitch shift like a sampler. To do that you have to drag the audio into the sampler.

This might be what I'm looking for... I am generating a modulation curve programmatically, and it's several minutes long (it's meant to do an exact shape during a song). So if I write it into a WAV file (which I can do), then can I feed the WAV audio into this modulator and use it to control synth parameters? Will it work OK with ultr-low-frequency input, i.e. slow changes nowhere near audio rate?

Hi.I am starting to use Bitwig an interesting program.I have a question. In the modules, there's a "module" called "sampler". Do I understand correctly that if I use this module, then VST (virtual instruments: guitar, piano, trumpet, etc.) will not be needed? That is, you can add any sound/sampler and create melodies. I just don't understand how to add my own samplers? Just put them in a folder or what? Could you please elaborate on how to work with this module? Or if there is already such a video tutorial, could you send me the link? Of course, you can create your own sound, but it's a long time and you have to experiment a lot. And so, add any sound and create any melody you want. Thanks for the video.
