My parents just got back from take a river cruise through portugal and doing all those port tasting experiences and such in Porto, it does look like a gorgeous city. Sorry that you got such bad news during such a big trip.

I loved our cruise on Ventura last October. A bit choppy on the way back over the Bay of Biscay. We liked Vigo a lot and Santander.

Awww, we didn't stop in Santander, I'll have to look out for a cruise visiting there as I've heard it's beautiful. Yes, I have been on 10 P&O cruises now, and the travel through the Bay of Biscay catches me out every time, though this time was definitely the worst I've known it.

I was on this cruise , did you notice that when going from Porto up to France the ship seemed to go much faster than the journey down , I got no sleep that night ,the engine and movement was quite intense and I was on deck 9 midship . I was just round the corner watching us go past the Arvia too , I zoomed in on them waving back , was looking for myself in your video lol

I think we were definitely going faster on the way back yeah, as on the way down due to the very high winds, I think we had to take it rather slow. It was a different type of motion on the way bach though wasnt it. More of a rolling sensation than a rock. To be honest with you, my sleep was quite interrupted most nights on this cruise 😅 we were also deck 9, but forward. Awww, it was a really nice sail away from Southampton wasn't it. I was waving at the people on shore and Arvia. I do the same when I see other vloggers on cruises, wondering if I've been wandering about in the background of their videos 😂

@@rhi-defined I really enjoyed it , you may of seen us all wearing Hawaiian shirts one night , we stood out quite a bit lol . We did ok with the weather too didn’t we , Porto was so hot . I ended up moving the coat hangers to one end of the rack and pushing my clothes against them so they weren’t clanging about when the ship was moving , could also feel a vibration on my headboard which was strange ,like I could feel the engine vibration all the way up to deck 9 , was strange I was starboard side .

Aww that sounds so fun! We did do nicely with the weather didnt we. Porto was particularly beautiful weather wise wasn't it :) it was so nice around the river. Oh that's a good idea with the coat hangers. I think we just persevered with the clanging 😅 I didn't feel much vibration on this cruise, just a lot of rocking and rolling. When I was on Arcadia I felt a lot of vibrations. It must depend on the location on the ship :)

Awww I really hope you enjoy your cruise. There are quite a few solo travellers on p&o cruises, and in the horizon, or itinerary, they have solo get togethers so you can meet up with fellow solo travellers and chat about what you've been up to. I find that they have thought of everything, and there is always something fun or interesting to do or attend. (And of course lots and lots of delicious food to eat!) 😀

We are going on the aurora but i feel the luggage instructions are very contradicting. As it says glass bottles or arasol cans are forbidden what about perfume and deodorants as they are glass and arasol?

Ooo, interesting question! Well I personally took both a deodorant can and a glass perfume bottle on my most recent cruise and had no problems with those. However, if you'd feel more comfortable, perhaps you could bring a roll on deodorant? Or a little travel plastic bottle to take a travel size amount of perfume in?

Great video as always. Your videos about P&O's Arcadia were helpful when I went on a last minute cruise at the end of last year. I regretted not taking more short - sleeved shirts because although there were several cold sea days, I hadn't realised how warm it would be inside the ship. Things I was glad I took: an insulated drink bottle for days ashore , a European power adapter so that I had an extra socket to use, washing sheets as they weigh less and take up less space than other forms of detergent. I discovered that people argue strongly about whether to use the launderette: 'I don't go on holiday to do laundry' vs 'Why take dirty washing home when you don't have to?' Enjoy your next trip!

I think your list of things that you were glad to have taken are very good tips to pack. I especially think the washing sheets are such a great idea, as you're right, much lighter and easier to pack. Hello, no you're not wrong at all :) I did used to be vegetarian, for most of my adult life, but about 6 months ago I decided to try eating meat and now I am quite partial to a bit of chicken and beef :) awww thank you so much, that means an awful lot!

Thank you :) if you get the tram from Picaddily, you want to get the blue line towards Eccles. That will take you straight to MediaCityUK, and will take about 25 minutes. Then from there it's a short 6 or 7 minute walk to IWM. Alternatively you could go to the IWM tram stop, but you would need to switch trams at Deansgate-Castlefield and hop onto the red line towards the trafford centre. Hope this helps :)

Hello, oh I hope you have a great time. So I didn't manage to visit any restaurants, but one that I would love to try on my next visit is "The Woodyard". It has excellent reviews, a really tasty looking menu, and the restaurant itself is beautiful and has a lot of history. I also hear that a lot of the pubs in Bakewell do delicious hearty food, so that might be something to look out for.
