I think it makes much more sense to view the forbidden fruit as the law. Like St. Paul, Adam was once alive apart form the law, but when the commandment came, sin revived and he died. The forbidden fruit was a good created thing, and the commandment was holy, just, and good. The serpent represented the law of sin in Adam's members. Adam was living according to his flesh when he was living according to the dictate of Eve. By the knowledge of sin, he became ashamed of his flesh.

There wouldn't be a need for this explanation if we would only stick to the original and rooted spellings and/or pronunciations of the name "Elijah"... which is ELIYAH or ELIYAHU. The conflicts with having an understanding to these names/titles is only because people (mostly in the West) tend to want to impress their defined understanding of these transliterated words. We need to start focusing on the root words, not the transformed versions of them. It's like the name of the Messiah... if we would just see the rules for what they are, we would all agree that the name Joshua is closest in both translation and transliteration to it's rooted form YESHUA! But again, folks from the west like to argue that the name "jesus" is most appropriate...?? This, i truly do not understand, especially when we know that the root word Jesus comes from the greek and not Hebrew.

I still stick to the KJV, although I actually prefer the style of the RSV. The NRSV would be good if it were a little less paraphrastic. I have serious problems with the use of paraphrastic renderings as a _primary_ version, and there's some seriously flawed versions produced by people who claim to be "recovering" or "restoring" the Bible (e.g., Joseph Smith's "Inspired Version", Brian Simmons' "Passion Translation", the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society's "New World Translation"). Any time you hear language suggesting new revelation, run fast.

Becareful, you do not change God's law. Most todays church is lost. Most run as if it is a business instead of place where we can gather freely and worship God.

Hey Chuck, i have a question... Whenever i see a picture of some cardinals, they appear to wear the pectoral cross a certain way. It appears that the cross is connected to a button on the cassock, while the chain hangs down pass it. A very notable example of this is Pope John Paul ii. In every picture i see of him, he wears the pectoral cross that way, i find it someone what interesting, but also very odd, because idk why they wear it that way. If you have any knowledge of what the name of that fashion "type" is called like how there's the Rabat collar and the tab collar, and the Roman collar, is there a specific name as to which a pope or cardinal wears the pectoral cross, AND what is the meaning behind that way of wearing it?
