Great video Jamie, as always. only thing W would add is that its ALWAYS better to be past the hole rather than short. a put that doesn't reach the hole never has a chance to go in. Hope you and the family are well x
@JamieDonaldsongolfКүн бұрын
Of course but in reality the tour players miss 50% short and 50% long (of putts that don’t go in)cheers bud hope your are well also

Yes but after 30 you will not increase by a little but shorten forward time or tempo

You need to start on a big slope, find a large slope on the green and start to feel the direction then move down to flatter areas, learn the pressures

Still one of my favourite drills - try this if you leave putts short!

“Apex” will confuse so many players. The “Apex” is actually where the ball is struck. What players are actually thinking is where diminishing speed allows for more break. But the putt starts breaking immediately.
@JamieDonaldsongolf14 күн бұрын
It does start breaking pretty much immediately, but where the ball is struck is not the apex, the apex is where it is farthest away from a straight line to the hole
@nathaniverson682814 күн бұрын
@@JamieDonaldsongolf this is exactly why I stated this. If people know science that term confuses people. If a putt only breaks one direction (say left to right) apex (by definition means highest point) is literally where the ball is struck. Which I’ve found in teaching short game confuses higher handicaps at trying to imagine the actual fall line of the putt and most under read the break. When you explain that you can visualize the putt starts to fall from diminishing speed at some point people have an easier time starting to understand.

The problems I've always had with this drill is that the practice greens are rarely flat enough to get a consistent read, and then it's nearly impossible to end up with the same level of slope on my putts during the round. Any tips for adjusting to slope after having this consistency from a single spot in practice would be greatly appreciated! :)
@JamieDonaldsongolf5 күн бұрын
You can do this drill upslopes and downslopes and accross slopes - key is the adjustment in stroke length

3 balls to the same place ? Bowling not golf - I take one ball to the green - go from edge to edge ( of the green ) from maybe 2 or 3 distances see it - feel it - and leave - that sharpness cannot be trained with multiple balls to the same place - but your right about the speed -
