This yearly license fee is BS. I feel like I'm getting ripped. This is the same thing Cakewalk did right before they tanked and went out of business. If you're spending $149 for an upgrade, it should be good with upgrades for at least two years, not one.

I can agree that Studio one's stock vsts and plugins is not the greatest but for me that never uses them is not a problem i use 3party vst and plugins sometimes the stock ones and i allredy had a subscription on splice that is intergrated with studio one wich is super amazing and really cool. I think the previous updates were really boring and didn't update really useful functions, but this was the best update ever, if they continue to develop Studio one pro 7 in this direction, I think it will be a really good program that can compete with FL Studio o Logic we will have to wait and see, but we can at least state that the integration with Splice will really put pressure on Logic and FL

That's what all software manufacturers are doing these days: They pack a well-functioning application. full of stuff that very few users need... just to sell it. It's all so predictable and everyone falls into the trap! The market is oversaturated with products that nobody needs, for customers who don't know what they want! And for what? To produce music that has been sounding more and more boring for years!

Hi, I don’t know if anyone is willing to give out a copy of studio one license for free as I am in great need of one and can’t afford it at the moment, I don’t want to use cracked softwares anymore as I don’t get to enjoy the full benefits of original software. Anyone please?????

Disappointed. Prior Pro users should be outraged at this new pricing. Logic Pro X is looking better and better. Buy it once, free upgrades after. The subscription for + is a rip off at $179 per year for loops and samples and limited workflow improvements.

I think Im sticking with my VERSION 5 for now!!!!!! I paid 400 buck for the licence (and of course upgrades since version 2) now I have to pay again plus the same money that someone that bought artist!!!!! NO THANK YOU!!!!! Maybe later I'd change my mind but not upgrading now!!!!

Really disappoint that Presonus keeps focusing those who make beats and use visual instruments. How about us who play, record, and mix real instruments. Not saying any wrong with making beats or using virtual instruments but some of use focus on playing, recording, and mixing our own instruments.

It's so weird, how we all have different preferences... I can't stand Logic. The drag-n-drop of Studio One, and its feature set have always been my jam. I've always thought the upgrades brought a significant bump... outside of this one. This one seems a little scarce, but what it did bring is very welcome.

starting next year they are doing new version numbering 2025.01 is next january feature drop.. every quarter Q1 Q2 Q3 Q4 .. it's the adopted versioning nearly all software manufacturers are starting to use. Pro+ is a SUBSCRIPTION.. it's per year.

The price of the perpetual license may have been adjusted because now they also have a 'subscription' service that offsets their profit model

Like you said man I can't believe they giving all this away for 149.. I'm only a studio 1 User..that's it. I don't care about FL or logic. I have my own vsts that way I don't have sound alikes on factory stock sounds.

The update is honestly somewhat lackluster. There are so many things, workflow improvements, they could do to enhance the usability. The browser is detachable now. Not sure if I'm ever gonna care about that. I definitely would care about a keyboard shortcut to preview a sound in the browser as many times as i want without having to go up or down the list just to trigger the preview again (or having to use a mouse to stop and resume playback). Not to mention that since version 4 (which is when I started using S1), they still haven't fixed an issue with the otherwise brilliant MixFX engine, where it bypasses mixer channels which receive sidechain input from other channels within the same bus (e.g., if you have CTC-1 on the master out and a kick and a bass sidechained together, only one of those will be affected by CTC-1 which doesn't make sense). Middle-mouse (or the 'scroll wheel button') support for panning/moving around the arrangement window like FL Studio and many other modern creative software suites do it (Adobe, Affinity, DaVinci Resolve, Blender, etc.). It's just so much faster and more intuitive. An ability to use the scroll-wheel in the piano roll to change grid resolution while painting notes across the grid An option to keep the note length of a previously inserted/selected note, so that newly clicked-in notes don't have to be resized in the same part. The audition tool thingy in the piano roll (forgot the name) currently starts playback of the whole part from where we click in the arrangment and continues till the end. It'd be better if it only played the selected notes for as long as the mouse button is pressed in. FL Studio gets it. We need an option that "burns" midi data on midi generators - e.g., on Scaler 2, arpeggiators, Reason rack, etc. A nice-to-have would be an ability to personalize/change modifier key behavior (shift, ctrl/cmd, alt/option) - e.g., reassign zooming in/out or scrolling along the arranger with another modifier key. I can't be the only person who uses multiple other applications and not just Studio One and they all use different modifier keys to do the same things. E.g., zooming in using ALT+scroll instead of CTRL+scroll would be a welcome feature. So many little things they could have done to fix and improve stuff that's already in Studio One, but they decided to add new gimmicky features instead, none of which (IMO) are worthy of being flagship changes to a major version release, and go all 'corporate' with their pricing model.

How does FL Studio staying in business, with all those free updates?

The only daw I never leave in any situation is Reason. Its library is very good, the voice synthesizers are great. What kind of claim does studio one make? I have it (studio one 6). Believe me, I use the Reason library. It still has many shortcomings and is very weak in terms of education. Usually the way they teach is like showing off.

I was sorry that I upgraded to 6, from 5. The video feature is ok, but not professional in any way, and I saw an immediate jump in CPU usage. Track/Buss freeze, as said below has been a top feature request. I think I'm bowing out at this point. I'm not going to make better sounding recordings by upgrading. 🤑

you want to talk about a crucial feature that they have ignored over the years? How about BUS and track freeze? This is a top feature request and they continue to pretend it isn't. If that feature is not on the list, there is nothing on this new version that makes sense to purchase v7.

What hype? There is more hype about the hype than there is hype. I'm totally wait and see on this. It doesn't sound terrible to me, and depending on the size of the quarterly feature releases, it could be the start of more aggressive improvement to the DAW. I don't personally see the need for huge improvements, but I'm not a pro, so... There's already way more there than I can use yet.

From what I have seen so far, the v7 update is of the nature "Let's add some AI and milk it". Besides stem separation, which most of us already have access to on a on of websites, Logic, FL Studio, RX,... there is not so much thrilling new features that have been leaked at all. Rounded edges, global transpose and a splice browser and a new Presence XT library seem to be about it.

Logic pro now also have stem separation (and it is very good and fast. I think it is better than ripX). But the best thing is you only pay U$ 199,99 one time and get updates "forever".

The success of this new SO idea going forwards for me hangs off how expensive it will be to buy a 12 month update every other year, rather than pay continuously. Plus how significant the updates really are within a 12 month window. I create orchestral and picked up a perpetual licence for Musio by Cinesamples for only $199 which going off past SO update history will provide infinitely better value for the same money for me than sinking that extra fee into SO every year. I'm sure whatever genre of music you create there's deals out there for around $200 as the competition is so hot these days. I hope am wrong an these quarterly updates are really good and will bring workflow improvements thus want to pay that extra fee more frequently. However we will see.
