Staybil has a shelf life written on the bottle Goto Omaha's Army Surplus Store in Ft Worth and get one or more of the metal 5 gallon Jerry Cans. It should come with the screw on metal flexible spout. I have one generator up and running with the zero ethanol fuel and 5 full fuel cans ready and waiting. We just got a few inches of rain/sleet. I need to replace the carb on my other generator. I gotta replace the carb on our riding mower two. So here's a carb question since your now a professional. Did you need to make any adjustments to the fuel jets or was it plug and play?? Yeah, during snowmagedon 2021 (Stephenville Texas) the power company cycled our power on for 1 hr and off for 45 minutes for several days. It was enough to keep the house warm and food cold but was going to trash my aquariums so I ran them off the generator until power came on and stayed on. I drain my skimmer into a 1 liter glass bottle. I have the bottle in a tupper ware container with a Neptune fluid sensor. If the sensor gets wet it turns the skimmer off and sends me an email.

@@rolbar9406 I don't know that I called them the best choice, but they are the prevailing choice these days when you shop for aquarium lighting. I used metal halides all the way up to about 4 years ago, but have zero regret switching over to the SKY fixtures I've been using. The tank temperature came down, I had less shadowing, and I can change the look of the tank with a quick selection in the Fusion app, plus I can enjoy the lighting dimming down that I didn't have with my MH & VHO lighting.

Great video. My tank is 48x48x24. Im running two T5 fixtures for a total of 8 T5 bulbs and between the banks of T5 fixtures, I have two 24 inch Reef Breeders Photon V2s. The Light fixtures hang about 13-inches above the water surface. I am getting just shy of 300 PAR 12-inches deep into the tank. I feel like I need to either replace the Photon V2s or add some additional LED strips to bump up the PAR/spectrum. Thoughts?? I have a mixed reef tank with Acros, Euphilia, Zoas, and some nems. Thoughts?? I think I did a pretty good job on the canopy. Its a basic box canopy with 2x2s. I put the light fixtures on stainless steel drawer sliders. When I need to replace the T5 bulbs or clean the fixtures, I just pull the fixture out the side of the canopy.

For quite a few years now I have tried to run a bare, glass bottom reef aquarium. After having little to no success (defined by problems with nuisance algae, coral that just doesn't thrive, my amphipods, isopods, and copipods have died off, coralline algae doesn't grow, and soft corals don't thrive either) I've decided to tear down my 75 gallon reef aquarium and plumb it inline with a 50 gallon aquarium gallon. The 75 will be just the rock (not much of "live rock any more) and the 50 will get a layer of sand, some fresh live rock and the few remaining soft corals. The ATI T5 fixture will get moved over to the 60 and we'll see what happens. I'm doing this because I'll be moving in about 24 months and want to move my soft corals into a smaller aquarium. Years ago I used metal halide lights and had awesome success. When they started being phased out I changed over to LEDs and all of my clams color faded then they slowly died. I ran the LEDs on max intensity too. I've now been using T5 lighting with better success but nothing like metal halide lights. So... back to a sand bottom and some fresh live rock to try one last time with the T5s. I still don't have much faith in LED lighting, the price is not justified for getting no results. I still have a lot of heartburn from losing dozens of pieces of hard coral to LED lights so I'm going with a softie tank. Any recommendations or comments on brands and settings that you've had success with would be appreciated. Thank you Melev!

10:50 - So many videos use wording which cause confusion on what that volume numbers should be. Chris keep saying in a number of videos that it's double your evaporation rate. NO. It's your evaporation rate for the day within the lights off period. This just ensures that if the daily evaporation amount is required to keep PH sable, it has that upper limit as the total it case dose within a 24h period.

Sometimes I mix my water higher than 35ppt to get the parameters (ca, mg, dkH) I want then lower the salinity with freshwater.
@richishere8224 күн бұрын
That makes no sense . If you mix it higher then add fresh you will lower them 😊
@m4a1JAY23 күн бұрын
@ Because the volume is not much of a difference from before and after the freshwater dilution, the readings come out the same. 36.5ppt to 35ppt salinity is insignificant. It’s no different than slowly adding freshwater to your tank to lower salinity if it’s gone up higher than normal. Obviously, if you made 10 gallon saltwater at 37ppt and you add 3 gallons of freshwater to dilute it, parameters are going to be drastically affected. But 35 gallons of saltwater and half gallon of freshwater to dilute it down to 35ppt there will be very gradual difference in parameters. Salt mix is about 85% Sodium chloride.
