@ Thank you so much for responding. I had to wait two years to get an appointment because my state is so short of Doctors after Covid. My knees are so bad on both sides that the doctor fears walking with whichever one is done second will hinder the success of recovery on the first. I loved your video. I agree about people warning on the pain; wheelchair bound and 24/7 pain now, so I welcome the light at the end of the tunnel. I was concerned about the short time in between but feel much better now. Again, thank you very much for your kindness in responding.

Just had a TKR 31st August (48yr old) home Monday and started home physio Tuesday. Swelling and bruising coming though and very painful. Laying leg raises are the most difficult and bending knee. Guessing I’m about 75% with that. Thursday and Friday I managed 4 leg raises and suffered all day night with constant pain. I am not being put off by this although today 6th October i only managed one leg raise with little control over lower leg. Hospital physio next week and staples out few days afterwards I have when walking with crutches my knee pushing backwards and this conserns me

@@lucentindex4048 thanks for watching👍 The swelling is normal but bruising if it’s only recent is a concern but should improve. Check it with your Physio for sure. I also still have the feeling of the leg giving way on occasion but it hangs in. Seems to be all quad muscle related. I have aches more than pain still on my 2nd knee after nearly 9 weeks though can walk ok and just about kneel down (very slowly) I’ve also had 2 back ops in the past which don’t help either 😬but hopefully with time we’ll both be happy with our new knees!!😀

I'm 81. My physio therapist told me before my TKR that ice would be my best friend and he was right.m! I bought a PolarIce machine that pumps ice water through the pack around my knee. I have a remote control and can program it to be on for 20 min and off for 40 min (or any combination of times). It's super. I wear it whenever I'm sitting (with my leg slightly elevated) and all night. I can control it if I feel too cold or feel that I want to extend the cold time. Really wonderful machine. It's been 14 days. I've had hone physio 5 times and I'll start outpatient physio next week. I had the staples removed yesterday and feel good. Still loving the icing and exercising. I take a pain pill about an hour before exercising. That helps a lot. Good luck to everyone. Remember, ice is your friend!

Plumbers may insist but (not being a plumber myself) figure it’s still the same fitting as you’d have that allows water to flow into the cistern but with a diverter that basically acts like a tap. Just turn it off after use otherwise the water will continue to run into the cistern and if the cistern is in good order all that happens is it will constantly run the extra water into the bowl. Backflow as I understand it is to do more with the mains pressure if that fluctuates may allow water already in your pipes to flow backwards. All the best with it.
