I am going in for right knee in a few weeks, then left 10 weeks later. I thank every one of you for making these videos. The information is invaluable and quite reassuring. Wishing you an easy and complete recovery from here on out.

@@loriru3135 hi I would think 10 weeks is maybe just enough time for your 1st knee to get some recovery. Sleeping may be the most distressing time but stay positive throughout and lots of ice should help during the day. Best of luck with it🤞

@ Thank you so much for responding. I had to wait two years to get an appointment because my state is so short of Doctors after Covid. My knees are so bad on both sides that the doctor fears walking with whichever one is done second will hinder the success of recovery on the first. I loved your video. I agree about people warning on the pain; wheelchair bound and 24/7 pain now, so I welcome the light at the end of the tunnel. I was concerned about the short time in between but feel much better now. Again, thank you very much for your kindness in responding.

@@sammysmirh3889 hi yes funny how the 2nd one has to be different 😆. I’m about 10 weeks post (meaning to do another update!!) it’s still a bit stiff but I’ve got 130deg flex - going down steps still a bit ginger. It seems to be very slowly getting there with the odd ache not so much actual pain most days. All the best, one tip I can offer is try naproxen (prescription) for relief if you haven’t already.

❤❤thank you for your video ❤ I had knee replacement surgery on 10-29-24 on my left knee and they want to do my right knee in 6 months around April 2025. Im doing pretty good ❤ from the first surgery its been 4 weeks and I'm at 125 degrees now ❤❤I have been doing physical therapy at the place and at home❤❤and it has really helped ❤❤ Happy Happy Thanksgiving to you and everyone 🙏 ❤

@@angerleanhammond1143 sounds like you’ve got this under control. I’m now ten months on the 1st it’s going well and 4 on the second it’s now at 135 degrees. Still some small discomfort at night on that one but walking no problem. Hope you’re 2nd comes along as your 1st. Osteo pain though a thing of the past🧘🏼♂️👍

@@derekbooth457 well on my left knee i started out with a meniscus tear in 2003 and it became bone on bone and no cartilage and full of arthritis. But when I was supposed to have the knee replacement surgery I was diagnosed with breast cancer twice and that put a hold on the knee surgery. It took 10 years for me to be able to have the surgery.
@derekbooth457Ай бұрын
@ similarly double meniscus tears on left then ACL on left. Same with bone on bone plus on my mother’s side osteoarthritis which can be hereditary, I got that in both knees. Drs suggested I put off with surgery also and waited over 10 years myself until it was too much. Anyhow glad it’s done now😀and sure you will too.

I had my TKR in the middle of November and it's still very painful and yes I'm taking my meds.

Hopefully should slowly improve for you. Just have to wait it out really. Work on the quad muscles in the meantime👌

I'm 69 female. Had total knee replacement 10 weeks ago . I'm doing steep hill walks after working in a gym with leg presses and curls rowig machine etc and was biking on my mountain bike around streets at 3 weeks. You are right about keeping it moving . Stops any stiffness. Have no aches a bit of swelling end of day if doing a lot of standing . Looking forward to getting other one done next year. Have enjoyed your talks.thankyou.

@@alisonhale3873 you sound like you’re way on top of things great you’re out of the pain zone. Keep up the great work those hill walks are challenging don’t overdo it though and here’s hoping 2nd knee will be a good recovery too.👍

Just had a TKR 31st August (48yr old) home Monday and started home physio Tuesday. Swelling and bruising coming though and very painful. Laying leg raises are the most difficult and bending knee. Guessing I’m about 75% with that. Thursday and Friday I managed 4 leg raises and suffered all day night with constant pain. I am not being put off by this although today 6th October i only managed one leg raise with little control over lower leg. Hospital physio next week and staples out few days afterwards I have when walking with crutches my knee pushing backwards and this conserns me

@@lucentindex4048 thanks for watching👍 The swelling is normal but bruising if it’s only recent is a concern but should improve. Check it with your Physio for sure. I also still have the feeling of the leg giving way on occasion but it hangs in. Seems to be all quad muscle related. I have aches more than pain still on my 2nd knee after nearly 9 weeks though can walk ok and just about kneel down (very slowly) I’ve also had 2 back ops in the past which don’t help either 😬but hopefully with time we’ll both be happy with our new knees!!😀

Thanks, I had a rest day from leg raises and knee bends yesterday only focused on the other home physio stuff hoping this would relief some pain. Sadly not the case. 😂 damn you good / bad knee! Whilst lay in bed with ankle dangling off bed when I fidget rotate of shake ankle I’m getting a knocking sound sensation… is this something you have? I’ll be asking on Thursday about this recent development . Ok off for full home physio let’s see how I do day

@@lucentindex4048 sounds like the patella making the noise its annoying but normal unfortunately. If you push the knee cap in will make a popping sound too. Also indicate swelling is probably reducing somewhat.

@@derekbooth457 noise I can live with as long as it’s ok and normal as you say thank you for swift response. Leg raises earlier managed five before fatigue hit me hard. Minimal pain compared to previous as you’d think I was being tortured though so that’s a positive

@@lucentindex4048 mentioned to my physio this morning doing squats was causing pain he simply said if it causes pain ease off/ don’t do them so it’s ok to go easy on yourself take a bit of extra time. If you haven’t already ask your gp about naproxen it’s an anti inflammatory and may help settle your pain.
