Bike sounds great, the numbers are Awesome! I have an '18 RGS w/Stage3 107 to 114. Had it this way for 7 years and the flywheel had an issue and took out the front piston, let it start rubbing on the cylinder. It has the SE 498 cam w/SE tuner, but this time it is at the dealer and they are doing the S&S 475 cam w/PV tuner and the Harley "Orange" cam plate and pump, which is there equivalent to S&S or Fueling's setup, pretty new, so i'm taking a chance at the techs recommendation, that way they'll warranty parts and labor! That should "bulletproof" the lower end, so to speak, and then we're ordering 117 upper end parts pistons, the whole bit.... I like S&S too! I have their true duel set up with the cat delete and wrapped with DEI titanium wrap, minus the heat shields. I did remove the baffles & packing and used Dennis Kirks 118 Power Torque inserts to redirect the exhaust since it's fully open now. The inserts are tiny, and what was recommended by them for my 41/2" exhaust setup! The Power Vision tuner is supposed to get it in the ballpark, but like you, I'd like to take it somewhere and have them actually professionally dyno it to make sure it's "just right" to peak the #'s. Hard part is finding somebody in Calif (NorCal) to do that.....Kevin.

I want the low rider st pretty badly..My snake venom Ultra limited is stage 2 as well and what not.. but im wanting a little more performance bagger type thing. And Wife and kids do ride with me but the longest trip we do is 180 miles to Gatlinburg tn.. she said bike is to small but she just has seen it not actually sit on it after i would fix the bike up. I was going to add highpegs and maybe forward controls as well and add the king tour pack for my kids and wife when they ride and i would take it off once im riding myself. i know alot of people with think im crazy by adding tourpack on the bike as i already have a ultra but there is still a huge differnce in weight and performance... A local has a killer stage 2 with cyle rama cam and what basini exhuast and already has rockford speakers as well so wife can listen to music still..Maybe i should just take the jump and trade mine in for it and make it fit me and im sure i will enjoy it more than my ultra for sure

hey there whats your thoughts on the bike if i came from a 21 harley ultra? im 6ft 1 around 260lbs or so. wife does ride with me and what not as well. but we dont ride crazy distance. Found a 22 st with stage 2 build and speakers.. i was going to add better seat and tour pack when wife rides

There's no question that there's a pretty big difference between the two. I would say if you are primarily riding solo, the switch wouldn't be a huge deal. The bike is definitely more aggressive and fun to get out and into the twisties with than the touring models. If your wife/kids ride with you sometimes, you can negate some of their discomfort with a nice Saddlemen Explorer seat or something like that. I'd say it's probably a bigger change for them than it is for you, but there is no question that you can do two-up riding with this bike. I've done entire days rides two-up on it without issue. The seat is the most important thing, especially for the passenger.

I figured longer bolts would be needed. Did you use spacers between the actual bar and oem holes where the QR posts rest on? Just got bar today and I didn’t want to install because I noticed those concerns. Figured bolts were too short and the gap (hole) that remains since the QR posts don’t sit flush against it no more

Nice full-face helmet and a Cardo or Sena would have you covered, even in the rain. Sounds better and far more clear at highway speeds too, with the added benefit of having blutooth communication.
@rebelsroguesco
@rebelsroguesco 6 ай бұрын
Oh, yeah, I'm in the know on all of that. I do have a nice full-face and use a Lexin for touring/group rides. It's definitely better at highway speeds too, as you mention. But I don't always wear a helmet and having audio on the bike itself is important to me.

Thanks! Haven't lost a bag in the two years I've owned the bike. They lock in pretty good. If I were still on an LRS, I'd go with the soft bags, but that's just personal preference for that bike.

If you can handle a touring bike comfortably why would you ever want to down grade and ride something less????????🥴
@rebelsroguesco
@rebelsroguesco 6 ай бұрын
Because you get a little bit of both worlds. The weight and handling of a softail with the some of the touring capability of a bagger. It has it's place, which is why it's easily one of the most popular bikes H-D sells right now.

@rebelsroguesco
@rebelsroguesco Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, no. I talked to the Rockford Fosgate rep while I was in the Black Hills a few days ago and the dude looked at me like I was the crazy one. They had an FXLRST on display in their tent. I explained the issue I was having to him, and instead of believing me, he's like, "Well, give me a song and we'll try it out." I gave him the song MANTRA by Bring Me the Horizon (which always clips on mine) and he proceeded to connect it to the brand new FXLRST sitting in their tent and said, "See? Can play this all day long-no issues." It's like-no shit sherlock? My bike is the one having the problem, not your BRAND NEW one sitting in the tent. Not really sure where to go from here.
@California__Kid__

So Rockford and Harley were unwilling to correct your issue?

22 FXLRST - I ride with a full face helmet and ear plugs. I don’t even need to go to max volume to enjoy the audio at highway speeds, but then again with the ear plugs I’m not fighting the wind noise. I can’t imagine riding at 80 with no helmet and still being able to hear anything at all but deafening wind noise. After a life of playing drums and rock music, I need to keep what hearing I have left.
@rebelsroguesco
@rebelsroguesco Жыл бұрын
Totally understand. I ride with a full face helmet and ear plugs from time to time (mainly long trips) and I can't hear it at all when I'm riding like that. I always swap to my helmet audio for those trips. The problem I have here is that the audio clips at max volume. I don't expect the audio to sound crisp and clean at 80 mph with no helmet on. However, I do expect a $1,000+ unit to work for longer than a week before it starts malfunctioning.

$4500 just for a cam? That’s bat shit crazy high. Should be 4 to 5 hours labor ($600 to $750) plus cost of the cam. Add $500 for the dyno tune and you are just under $2k. How does the stealer justify $4500?
@rebelsroguesco
@rebelsroguesco Жыл бұрын
No doubt. The cam & chest kit (S&S 475C) I was quoted runs about $1,430 on J&P/Dennis Kirk. I had them add in an air cleaner (~$450), and a new TTS tuner (~$600). Just parts would've had the job at $2,480. Labor is $110/hour. If we put the whole job at 8 hours (not sure if that's actually what was quoted) for cam replacement + dyno, we're adding another $880. Even with all that, the job would be at $3,360-not the $4,500 I was quoted.
