Three stroke ruffs (R-LRL- RLR, Etc ) are the best cure-all for whatever ails your double strokes...

Rolls on a pillow. Forces you to play both beats without relying on rebound.

You are pulsating your right hand . Good lesson but should be played as da DA ma MA roll. Accenting the DA and MA . Or the E A. As you progress the accent will go away.

I do this with both hands and it helps in so many ways. Puts a much heavier "load" on the hands, forces you to build mobility, and tends to unmask weaknesses. You sound absolutely great btw! What really helped me with "weak" (in my case right) hand spang-a-langs was incorporating triple strokes ending in accented upstrokes (first two notes almost ghosted) in one big "pull" motion on the snare as little embellishments while playing beats, and then pushing that from 16ths to to 16th triplets to 32nds. Somewhat annoyingly, my weak right can now, for the moment, spang-a-lang faster than my left.

Thank you! Yes, the triple Moeller upstroke is really in building up dexterity in your weaker hand-especially because it involves all the muscle groups, from arm to fingers. Thank you for your comment!
