Roflmbo…these pretty boys couldn’t stand on the mount in the 60’s against Dodger, Cardinal or Yankee teams. Arm care? WTF I still watch MLB but it’s like watching the JV team in high school when it comes to pitching and pitch count.

Hey guys, appreciate your streams I’m trying to learn all I can with having a up-and-coming pitcher.. Jordon mentioned a podcast I couldn’t quite catch the name of that. Is there anyway you guys could let me know the podcast he is talking about? Thanks

We have a stim unit that we use for armcare after pitching and to get blood flow jump started before stretching and bands. Would it be prudent to use the stim unit during the game in between innings to help keep blood flow going, or is it not an issue while actively pitching?

What should be the pitch count for 9 yr olds? My kid has been pitching about 15 per inning, is this good for little league?

What do you always hear from people when your "Rushing", "In a Hurry" or "Moving Fast"? Everyone knows the answer "Slow down & don't hurt yourself". It's common sense that rushing things lead to accidents & mistakes which means higher likelihood of Injuries. Again this is COMMEON FREAKING SENSE! In the 1980s Pitchers used to throw 7-8 innings a lot & MLB Officials with there self proclaimed "Brilliant Intellect" decided to start counting Pitches & pitchers that were used to going long in games hated it but MLB ignored. Starting Pitchers are throwing LESS NOW than they ever have & its really rich to hear MLB stooges today keep going back to a person being overworked & the reason they are saying this is because its been there theory for decades & they REFUSE to reevaluate their own theories when theres a chance they could be wrong. It also points to the Elitist Controlling Attitude that MLB Officials & its Media has where they just can't let things be. Many people in Power hate just sitting back & not making changes to something because it may create the idea that they aren't really needed. When something is going good LEAVE IT ALONE. Injuries are a part of Sports & there's no rules you can create that will stop all the injuries without completely changing the game. On the other hand you can actually mess with something when its working & end up breaking it. Baseball is not a game thats ruled by a Clock. Its 9 innings for both teams & the Team with the most points at the end of regulation Wins, it's that simple.

Pitch counts are the work of Glenn Fleisig and ASMI. Really smart guy, but the stuff they recommended hasn’t done anything.

So what program would you suggest if we had a 50 arm score to take it to a 70 and keep the shoulder strong as possible
@ArmCare
@ArmCare Жыл бұрын
The ArmCare app provides strength training for you to do to get above 70. The app also provides details of why you have a 50 score (for Premium users). This can be used by coaches/trainers to program their own training for you that targets your weak areas.

Can you tell me how strength velocity ratio is calculated and what an ideal score is?
@ArmCare
@ArmCare Жыл бұрын
The Strength Velocity Ratio is the ratio of your combined Arm Strength readings (IR, ER, Scaption, Grip, etc) divided by your max throwing velocity in mph. You want a ratio above 1.6. There is research showing that ratio significantly reduces throwing injuries, fatigue and recovery time. It also means you are strong enough to add in a new pitch, make mechanical changes, or potentially take part in a velo enhancement program.

It is unfortunate, that these guys don't know about simple physics terms such as Stress and Strain and the fact they can be measured and analyzed as functions. In other words, a Stress Function and a Strain Function along with the various parameters involved. Let's keep it simple for now. Stress is the force or forces imparted on you while performing a task and Strain is how you deal with the Stress. In this case, a biomechanical change in the Strain Function can be more important to reducing injury than they realize. One example, is the concept I call Power-Pronation (supinate and then pronate). As the arm goes lay-back - the place where the inner elbow (location of the UCL) is most susceptible to damage - if the thrower supinates his wrist the Strain Function will be greater than for palm-up (due to contraction of the biceps and elastic stretching of the pronator teres). As a result, the thrower has improved his outlook for dealing with the Stress Function directed at the elbow while throwing a baseball. Something for these throwing "experts" to think about.

It is really simple and does not need to be complicated. It is not any one metric or key area that dictates but their is a hierarchy that is important in identifying Capacity. Capacity is what dictates the variables involving mobility, sequence and timing. Lean muscle, etc. is so far from important that it should not be mentioned. Broad Jump and grip strength alone dictate capacity. Capacity is and can be influenced by approach.

How one uses their body is more important than most of these sports scientists give credit. More important, I believe, than the brute-force mentality taking over baseball training. For example, I examined photos of a pitcher few baseball experts ever heard of and determined from my work in the Physics of Sports that he threw his fastball using the neutral wrist. He was only 5' 9'' and 170 pounds with the modest muscularity of a late 1950's early 1960's pitcher. Who was this guy? His name was Steve "Dalko" Dalkowski (1939 - 2020) and I wrote an article about my findings that yes, Dalko could throw 110 mph: The World's Fastest Fastballer - Steve Dalkowski. If only he could find home plate more often: 1324 SO 1236 BB in 956 innings pitched. Incredible 1.4 SO/IP (Nolan Ryan 1.0 SO/IP)
