I’m looking to get into one. Found one listed for $25k with 60k miles. Think this would be worth it? CarFax seems decent with all the regular maintenance performed. Obv will try to negotiate a bit. Just worried about the miles and maintenance. Looking for a car that I can have fun with without the headaches of expensive repairs/maintenance. Should I look elsewhere? My budget is around 26k

If anyone still has these cars you can replace the rear centre console with the one out of the RCF that has the roller door with twin cup holders. It is transformative on longer trips and just looks so much better as well. I ordered mine from Lexus Parts in Japan but I am not sure I’d they still sell them or not. It is an easy install and all you give up is you can’t then Completely fold the rear seat down on one side. I would also recommend changing out the plastic paddle shifters for the RCF aluminium ones and also I managed to get a brand new GSF shift knob that matches the red stitching of my interior. You can also add Apple car play and android auto through beat sonics too if you have a model prior to that upgrade being available. I added the Nvidia quad exhaust too to give it the RCF stacked type look and the sound is incredible too. It’s a great car and I have kept mine going on 7 years.

I think the diffs are overkill for anything but deep mud and serious crawling. But if your terrain dictates it, I bet they'll help! Locking the rear diff in 2WD does make for some fun sliding, I can attest! Taco's sweet but can't do that, I don't think.

The best engine the Terrain had was the 2.0 which they got rid of after 2020. In favor of the 1.5 as the sole and only engine. It was a TERRIBLE move by GMC. They could have at least kept the 2.0 as an extra "cost option" or made it standard on the Denali trim. It put out 252hp and 260lbs torque. As opposed to 175hp and 203lbs torque for the 1.5. I hope they bring it back in 2024 and later models. Especially, when other car manufacturers are offering 2 or 3 different engine choices. Nissan for example took a HUGE gamble going with a 3cyl turbo but it puts out 200hp and 225lbs torque. And it's paying off big time for them. Bottom line is if they don't bring back the 2.0 because of cost issues etc...They have too increase the HP on the current 1.5. Because 170-175 is not cutting it. Honda's CRV puts out 190hp they could easily do that mated to the 203lbs torque. You'd be surprised folks what 20 extra HP will do for this vehicle.

I bought a 2007 with high miles recently. It's in great condition, Great body lines. The smooth transmission and engine are kept up and tight; burns no oil; the frame has very little surface rust; the body and interior are excellent. After looking at YT video's I see i could have easily gotten burned but fortunately, the two previous owners took care of it and I see no signs they used it off road. I didn't look at the frame or check the history of the transmission fluid changes. That was a risk and dumb. I also didn't know that some earlier models have inside fender damage you have to look for. I would have seen that one however. Point being. I got lucky but those are the things to look for. You can get burned real quick if you buy one with a rusted out frame or the transmission fluid wasn't kept up on. I didn't know but I changed my transmission fluid not knowing what to expect and luckily, it was red as can be. I personally wouldn't buy one that was used off road as a sport unless that's what you want to use it for. I love mine however. Rides very nice, tight and has great power. The 07 usees only premium gas. That's a negative but at least it's burning good cleaner gas. I'll keep it as a collecters car when I'm done.

@Driven2DistractionAutos2 жыл бұрын
I wasn't able to do a 0-60 run, but my research is showing a 5.5 second 0-60, but I can vouch that 0-30, the "seat of the pants" acceleration is WAY faster than the last gen--manual or CVT. It shifts like a dual clutch--a little jarring even in the sport + mode.

@Driven2DistractionAutos2 жыл бұрын
I see why people feel like the SPT shouldn't be the only trim with all the goodies. I agree, but after driving both I think they're trying to sell two completely different cars. The manual trims are meant to beat the Civic Si and Elantra N thanks to AWD. The WRX GT is meant to beat the CTR and Golf R because it's more rugged. The SPT (CVT) definitely feels way more like a dual clutch than last generation's CVT. I don't know if Subaru will succeed, but I think I understand them a little better now.
