Question: first off, great work on your bench and the demo was well done. Now the question..... When you lower the castors, How do they lock into place without the weight forcing them back up into the bench? Thank you👊🏾

Good Day sir, I have been trying to find the plans for this project, they do not seem to be on your site. Is there a way to get / purchase them?
@RingsWorkshop9 күн бұрын
All of the 3d printable files are on my thingiverse site, as well as the code for the Arduino. I did not make a wiring diagram however, so I don’t really have anything to make plans of.

I just came across your channel. At this point, it is the last video you posted in over a year. How unfortunate. You are very smart and have great ideas. Hope things are well.

That thin cabinet is a great place to store your table saw blades. Just add a couple dowels and hang then in there

More so to do with time to edit the video and get it uploaded. I have a big project I recorded that I’m hoping to get posted in the next month or two.

Fantastic engineering/design!! I was pondering if/how to make my Bosch 12" sliding mitersaw fliptop as it shares the bench with my raidal saw and the RS and MS fences are not in line (over 19" difference in depth from the wall). You have giving me some great ideas on making my MS flip down when I want to use the radial saw. I'd be interested in knowing any challenges you had getting your Mitersaw surface in perfect alignment with the workbench top; I would love to see a short vid on fliping your miter saw. Even though i don't need a full bench build there must be a few ideas in your plans to help me solve my problem so I will buy your plans, a great bargain for the fantastic knowledge you are sharing. Thanks

Great video. It inspres me to get to work on my system. You didn't mention how you are supplying pressurised air to operate the pneumatics. For my shop, I think I would try using linear actuators so I don't have to use a compressor or deal with all the air lines. They would be slower, so I might have to experiment to see if the latency is tolerable. I eliminated the compressor in my small shop when I switched to cordless brad and pin nailers. I would opt for ESP32 devices instead of Arduinos. Very capable microcontrollers that support wifi and bluetooth. They are so inexpensive you could design peripheral devices for the tools that communicate wirelessly with the main controller.
@RingsWorkshop12 күн бұрын
Just started messing around with the ESP32 devices, big fan. For the air I use my main air compressor but split a line off and then reduced the PSI way down.

Hi, I not sure if I missed it but how are you maintaining temperature control within the enclosure?
@RingsWorkshop29 күн бұрын
I’m not maintaining temp, just having it enclosed it keeps most the heat in from the bed and hot end, I normally print pla/petg and some abs so nothing too extreme as far as temps go.
@H2Dwoat29 күн бұрын
@ hi, thanks for the response. If the temp is good for ABS isn’t it too hot for PLA?

Very nice. impressive brainstorming and design process. I really like how the entire cabinet can be moved out from under the saw in its entirety so that you have access to the Sawstop service panel. I'm curious -- How has this been working out for you in the past 2 years? Still works as good as it did on the first day? Thanks.

I think this bench would be much better if some of the tools beds were at the height of the bench. Like the thicknesser for example.
@RingsWorkshopАй бұрын
Ya the planer that could have worked most likely, would just need to lower the rotation point, maybe the jointer, but unfortunately not for bandsaw or drill press because of how tall they are.

How would you approach sending the signal from the current sensor wirelessly?
@RingsWorkshopАй бұрын
Some micro controllers like the ESP32 support WiFi and Bluetooth, there are ways to have the current sensors connect through that.

Magnets for your tools, i even see your files, drill- and router-bits on it. That's a No Go! NoGo!!!! I hate such magnetic strips ore other magnetic sources near my tools. This is the worst solution i ever saw. For the rest i see some nice solutuions. But such magnnetic strips on tools, i dont understand who like such things. Unbelievable.
@RingsWorkshopАй бұрын
Care to explain why you hate them so much? I’ve been using them for quite a while now and I still love it.
@ervano798Ай бұрын
@@RingsWorkshop Quite simply because those strips magnetize the tool and when using the tools all kinds of metal particles stick to the tool. When drilling, the chips stick to the drill, small screws dangle from the screwdrivers and so on. There is still so much to mention that is incredibly annoying about magnetized tools. That is the reason why I hate those magnetic strips. No serious ore professional workshop will store their tools in such a way. Such strips do not belong in a proper workshop. In my opinion, they must be forbidden. In my little workshop there is no place for such junk.
