Had white people taco night for the first time since my (1/2 white 1/2 Asian) kid started table food. Made a huge show of singing him this song as we were sitting down to eat. My husband looked at me like I was insane and I was like, “This is his culture!!!” 😂 And my husband ate several helpings because… it’s not only for white people (but white people love it the most).

Above all, Hae Min Lee is a beloved human being who lost her life in all this, and that shouldn’t be forgotten. Adnan & his family are humans involved in this who are hurting too. (This comment is a FRACTION of what I wrote out in response to this. I’m a true crime nerd at heart and got b*lls deep into this case, and if there’s a pod/doc/book about it, I’ve likely consumed it) Now personally I just wana say that as much as I do believe the case Adnan is specifically charged with is fabricated af by the poolice & spoonfed to Jay (who is wise to the streets) to corroborate, there’s still something about Adnan that’s just fishy to me. That’s not to say he did or didn’t do it, but the basis of his conviction has fallen apart upon further investigation of the evidence. This all happened in 1999, and our means of crime investigation has evolved exponentially. Additionally, there was all kinds of unnecessary racist sidebars in the trial, as well as an inadequate defense attorney who is now deceased, and was distracted by her progressing ailments whilst working on Adnan’s case. He is incarcerated as a result of a chaotic case with overshadowing from other inflammatory factors that I believe prevented him from having a fair trial. Does that then absolve Adnan of participating in Hae’s d3@th? No. If the Supreme court looked at it over again, I can’t help but suspect someone who is connected with the investigation, like a poolice, could potentially have been breathing down their necks to keep to the story best as possible. I might also suspect the court to have unanimously put off having to do what I can only imagine is a sh!t ton of paperwork. Hmu if youd like me to expound on some points! (Choose wisely😊)

There was a case recently where the prosecution’s review board went to the court and asked for one of their old convictions to be thrown out. They had thought he shook a baby who later died but new medical science suggested the death and appearance of being shaken was most likely from a number of preexisting health issues, including premature birth and a history of hospital stays and strokes. Judge kept the conviction because it was unfair there was no one in court to defend the original conviction… because both the prosecution and defenses lawyers had come to believe he was innocent. I think it was in Tennessee. There’s a great pro publica article on it.
