Yeah, I updated it to give the player an idea of what argument Athena will be using.

I do dislike a lot of Dual Destinies but I loved Athena and wanted to do right by her, so I put my efforts there. That being said, my game's overall tone and writing style clashes terribly with Dual Destinies and I wanted to play with a version of the Phantom I find more interesting. Seeing as Bobby Fulbright was killed in the Dual Destinies universe, you could see this as an AU version of him that went rogue. The most important thing to remember is that this game is an AU. The Dual Destinies universe remains untouched.

That's why he said he wasn't sure. I don't know if he thinks he was actually in love or just really infatuated.

That's completely valid. I wouldn't want my game to ruin your opinion though. I very much see her as a separate character from the original and I imagined this as more of a fun what-if scenario than having any overt hatred for her. I actually see it more as Myriam Scuttlebutt just doesn't exist in this universe and the version in this case just used that as a code name, seeing as she's 12 years older than the original character.

I don't know where to find Athena's pursuit track but the cross examination theme is Zinle's.

In my defense, I've only play AAI1 up to case 4 so anything beyond that, I have no idea.

Method is one of the best first case I played; better than most of the mainline first cases. I enjoyed Ladies Night; and Twin is a nice parallel to stolen.

Fun fact: Case 1 was made in less than 2 months when I suddenly realized there was a lot of setup that needed to be done that Case 2 simply couldn't provide, being the first case. So I'm really glad you enjoyed it because I worked really hard at trying to make it a fun first case that serves as a tutorial while also having more than enough in-jokes (like Payne getting obligatory cameo) to satisfy long-time fans. Plus Athena deserves to get an entire tutorial case to herself after she was robbed in DD and it also let Edgeworth (the target of the Line Man) get a bit more spotlight. So it exists for a number of reasons and was easily the most cobbled together case so far.

While I agree, the game nor the case are still incomplete so this could change.

Just finished Contempt of Court so I get that reference! I honestly haven't found a place for Hemlock, as I don't want to spoil anything from the source. But I can tell you that, this being a parallel universe, he's around somewhere. I'm trying to play more fan projects to make my references spread a bit more among other cases but that's a huge time commitment as I'm working on this.

Actually, this ties a lot into the story I wanted to tell. It didn't make sense to have 2 Phantom-like characters and my dislike of the handling of the character in Dual Destinies made me decide to rewrite the character to fit into my own game more cleanly while also keeping with the darker tone set by Apollo Justice that was never continued. It also accounts for the massive differences in writing style between Dual Destinies and T&C (as well of Spirit of Justice, though I was able to keep that one mostly canon). I've already had to write flashbacks to 5-5 and discovered that, had I used the original dialogue, it wouldn't have made a lot of sense, prompting me to rewrite them. It's about the best I could do here, and the Phantom is a player in the main T&C story, serving a deliberate role in this story and an upcoming story as well. In other words, I didn't just retcon it only because I disliked Dual Destinies. I retconned it to serve my game much better. The mysteries of why the Phantom killed Metis Cykes and how he'd managed to stay under the radar for so long are very important.

Actually no, of all the returning characters in DD, Apollo was probably written the best. I mean it's not perfect but it's close enough and I kind of used a blend of his AJAA and DD personalities to write him. Nah, I just thought the Phantom was pure wasted potential and that if they were going to do a character like that, they should have used him disguising himself as major characters earlier in the game.

@@SarcasticPastaGames Ah, I see, still that stuff on the Phantom disguising himself as major characters is still disturbing, as he'd practically be playing mind-games with Athena, since he never disguised as women, believing her co-workers were in one location only to find out they were in another at same time. I'm also guessing by how Apollo called the L'Belle mask the Joker, I'm assuming Monstrous Turnabout either didn't happen in this universe and it was another embellished part of the Fib, or it still happened but under very different circumstances, either way I'm definitely intrigued by this fan-project!

Yeah I thought The Monstrous Turnabout was pretty bad so my thinking is The Fib made it unrecognizable. One of the things I hinted at is that Trucy was one of his assistants for the case and was cut from the story later on, but while the characters themselves existed, they didn't act like that and the story was a lot more subtle and less stupid. These retcons are really just my way of explaining how DD can still be canon in my universe despite the writing style and plot progression differing on such a fundamental level. Most of the story beats are the same but are done in very different ways. I've even played around with rewriting 5-5 to fit my own universe but I haven't released anything.
