Please, Sir, how long do I have to take this cream for. I have just got it prescribed 2 days ago when I went to a doctor thinking I had UTI and today I got resalts of urine test and it is negative. So now it really looks like problems are somewhere else. Is it just a certain time I take it or for how long really women usually use Estradiol cream 0.01. Thank you very much as I am very new in this issues and worry also of side effects since my dear aunt just passed away last year in breast cancer. Regards, Jana

@JanasSpace Thanks for watching. So sorry you're struggling with those symptoms. In answer to your question, estradiol vaginal cream is usually taken long-term, since the loss of estradiol isn't something that's going to go away on its own. So sorry about your aunt. However, you can rest assured that there's exactly ZERO evidence that estradiol in a vaginal cream has any impact on increasing breast cancer risk.

Without taking any meds for meno, do they symptoms ever stop?
@SimpleHormones
@SimpleHormones 5 күн бұрын
@janetayala6908 That's a great question! Some menopause symptoms tend to go away after a period of time. Notably, hot flashes and night sweats appear to last about 7 years (on average) after menopause for caucasian women. African-American and Hispanic women may have them for up to 10-12 years. Asian women maybe 4-6. However, most menopause symptoms do not go away . . . ever. In fact many, like vaginal dryness, painful intimacy, insomnia, weight gain, joint pain, etc. have a tendency to get worse over time. That's in addition to the fact that the loss of hormones leads to serious long-term health risks like osteoporosis, heart disease, diabetes, and more.

Steve, I absolutely love the way you make all of this so clear and easy to digest! Thank you for educating us and providing us with life saving information. I am getting an ultrasound of my pelvis tomorrow because for 2 years I had been using non FDA approved transdermal estrogen, progesterone and DHEA and I do have a uterus. I trusted this company (GLOW NATURAL WELLNESS) with my health - I was unaware that their creams were not FDA approved - and after doing my own research and listening to several podcasts and menopause experts ( yourself included! ), I am now feeling nervous that I have not been protecting my uterus with the transdermal progesterone. Until my ultrasound results come in, I have stopped the estrogen and DHEA creams, and I switched to the micronized oral progesterone. I never had any serious symptoms to begin with but I was taking the hormones as a preventive measure. I have also switched to a different doctor who is part of the Heather Hirsch Collective. They are certified menopause experts from NAMS. I'm hoping that if any damage was done to the lining of my uterus that it is minimal and can be corrected with the oral progesterone moving forward! I would appreciate any thoughts or concerns you may have. THANKS AGAIN for being such a LIGHT in this complex, many times confusing world of post menopausal hormones! 🙏💙

+@3x02mb I will say that “FDA-approved” may not be the most important factor. I worked as a compounding pharmacist for over 2 decades, creating tens of thousands of non-FDA-approved hormones that truly helped patients live better. It IS true that oral progesterone is more effective in protecting the uterus from overgrowth.

@patdeadwyler2618 Lubricants will help. Unfortunately, they are only masking the symptoms of vaginal dryness and painful intimacy. Lubricants do not solve the root problem . . . which is the loss of estradiol. The most effective (and safest) treatment for post-menopausal vaginal dryness is vaginal estradiol or vaginal DHEA. Here is a video explaining how I believe every post-menopausal woman should at least be offered vaginal estrogen. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mnqTp2eciKafiposi=KAZQwVf5qam9Vn0n

@rhondarydell That's true. And the "elective" status of hormones is most likely rooted in the Women's Health Initiative study that basically said, "Don't take HRT to prevent disease." From my informed perspective, that's exactly the wrong message.

@ this classification is the root of the problem, and exactly what puts our medical decisions at the whims of our doctors in this way.. they don't "have" to listen to us. Can a progesterone of 800mg everyday increase anxiety? I am feeling anxious very anxious since the time my progesterone supplements have been added
@SimpleHormones
@SimpleHormones 6 күн бұрын
@ritumandal2612 Progesterone can induce anxiety, especially in women who have a history of progesterone intolerance, as I talked about in this video. A dose of 800MG is quite high and could bring on anxiety. There's a paradox with progesterone however. Some doctors I work with insist that it's moderate doses of progesterone where women have the most anxiety and depression issues, at least when they're progesterone intolerant. Some of these doctors actually push progesterone doses much higher to paradoxically flood the progesterone receptors and relieve the intolerance. I'm still doing some reading and research on this topic. That video has nearly 50,000 views and 703 comments. It has struck a nerve with my audience.

@ErnestGoethe-f2w That's a good question. There are many other factors that can make a difference: protein intake, time/intensity/type of workouts, sleep, testosterone level, etc.

My estradial blood test came back with a value of 218 pg/ml. I am on .o75 patch and 100 progesterone . What does that mean? Thank you.
@SimpleHormones
@SimpleHormones 6 күн бұрын
@sheryldunton8209 That's a great question. It's important to remember that your estradiol goes up and down, depending on several factors - how long it's been since you changed your patch, how your liver metabolizes (breaks down) estradiol, whether or not your ovaries are still producing estradiol, and other factors. That 218 pg/ml alone isn't all that alarming, especially considering the chart at 3:45 in this video that shows estradiol goes way higher than that in women of child-bearing age.
@PLT722
@PLT722 12 күн бұрын
FYI ovaries do not just ‘shut down’, they continue to produce hormones ( according to Ayurveda & TCM up to 60 hormone-like substances, not even named in western medicine ) and affect woman’s health & wellbeing. Testing hormones in the lab? - waste of time & money. As you say they fluctuate and continue to do so for next 10 years or so. ( my own experience 😅) It will only possibly make sense to understand a particular mood at the time of testing. Testing urine at the comfort of your own home is more reliable with a fertility monitor over a period of days will give you a much better picture, though even within a same day they can be highs & lows at the same time with both hormones. Again, it helps you to understand the connection to symptoms ( eg when I feel like ‘this’ I need more progesterone, when I’m like ‘that’ I’m low in estrogen …) but ultimately staying present with our body will reveal most… I Still enjoy your videos, and it’s obvious medical Science is still in baby steps when it comes to the complexities of female body, lol 😂
@SimpleHormones
@SimpleHormones 5 күн бұрын
@PLT722 Thanks for watching and for chipping in your perspective. I'm going to respectfully disagree with some of what you've mentioned. It's possible ovaries continue to produce some hormones, but the vast majority of estradiol and progesterone after menopause come from the adrenal glands and fat cells. So I'm going to stick by my statement that the ovaries basically "shut down" at menopause. The amount of estradiol and progesterone available after menopause is about 2% of what it was before menopause. There may be other hormones available, but they don't help significantly with most menopause symptoms, which is exactly why so many women are absolutely desperate for help with those symptoms. Testing blood levels for those hormones is a helpful and not-that-expensive approach. There's an extremely clear correlation between optimal ("just right") hormone levels and symptom relief. If you have hormones close to zero, you're extremely likely to have symptoms. Glad you found my videos at least interesting enough to comment.
@PLT722
@PLT722 5 күн бұрын
I think - as you say - it’s a matter of perspective. Yes, totally agree with almost all above, except the word ‘shut down’ ( perhaps at best shut down estrogen production may be more proper) . But the way you worded was misleading, as if ovaries were no longer needed. And they are!

@tracygarnet6392 That's a high score. I wouldn't say you should be "worried" but I would say you should be "motivated." I have a good friend with a moderately high CAC score (less than 100) who was experiencing some chest pain during a workout. He went to his doctor, who recommended a stress test. He had symptoms during the test. He was escalated to the cath lab, where doctors found he had significant blockages in his LAD, the artery in the heart that's most problematic. Your situation definitely warrants talking with your doctor, who will probably refer you to a cardiologist to see if there are significant blockages. It's not a situation to "wait and see" or try to handle on your own.

Dhea boosts testosterone in women, boom done. In men it almost doesn't. Is there anything for men that boosts testosterone above 800 range? Herbals, and exercise doesn't do the trick if you are older.
@SimpleHormones
@SimpleHormones 6 күн бұрын
@dantwister5106 In my informed opinion, there's no herb, supplement, diet, workout, or lifestyle change that can get total testosterone from below 300 ng/dl (where it's considered clinically low) up to 800 ng/dl, whioch would be close to optimal. There are a few of those steps that could increase testosterone maybe 20%. So that would make it go from 300 ng/dl up to 360 ng/dl. Pretty disappointing but that's the truth.

society and doctors focus too much on the health needs of older women and the benefits of HRT on the unpleasant, obvious aspects of menopause, like hot flashes. well, not all of us go through hell during menopause. when I was approaching menopause, my dr told me basically that discomforts were the only negatives to losing my hormones. I didn't experience any serious discomforts so I didn't get any hormones. but now, at 63, I have osteoporosis. HRT could have prevented that, not too mention all the other health benefits. stop just focusing on hot flashes and weight gain, please!

@SimpleHormones
@SimpleHormones 6 күн бұрын
@r_r_r_r Thanks for watching. There are different approaches to perimenopause testing among doctors I work with. Some do test in perimenopause, many do not, because the tests don't necessarily produce useful information. Mayo Clinic is fine, but they will basically tell you the party line about hormones and perimenopause or menopause. That's all about how HRT is super risky and not for every woman. Fine if that's where you get your information. But they won't let you know about the risks of NOT getting your hormones optimized,. especially AFTER you go into menopause.
