Thanks for posting-Apple Music has nothing by the Sinfonia. I read somewhere that John Cage gave friends copies of their records.

All these Karajan videos are about him and his vanity, and thus I find them boring. As a musician it bothers me that he has absolutely no eye contact with his players.

All the majesty of a fourth grade orchestra combined with the sounds of feral cats mating in a garbage-filled alleyway! 🎉

First time I listened to this, I was going back to work after a lunch break, and had this playing on my earbuds. I nearly wet myself in front of a room full of people when the timpani player started beating the life out of my soul.

It’s the totally earnest (& Pythonesque) Timpani / kettledrums, that holds this beautiful shambles of a piece, all together & makes it work as an absurdist masterpiece x Make Britain Great Again !😂

I remember this at college!I think the condition for interviewing students as musicians were that they were unqualified in playing their actual instrument and had never played before!Fantastic Orchestra.I 'm sure I had a floppy single of them!Such fun in those days!👍🎻

Chris Stein of Blondie writes about this in his autobiography. He heard it on radio while on tour in Belgium in 1977 and taped the last part of it. It haunted him for years, but he could never find out where it came from. Finally he heard it again in an Almodovar film - but not credited. Back then, IMDb had message boards, and after a year of checking it, someone posted the solution.

Almost - but not quite - as hilariously disastrous as The Temple City Kazoo Orchestra's version! Check them out if you love the Sinfonia! (And prepare yourself for even more deranged 'versions' of 'Staying Alive', 'Miss You' and 'Whole Lotta Love')
