Here's a pro tip to remember when fixing things to last. We all know about using Marine grade Stainless steel for parts, they out last others. Here's what you might not know? When buying Stainless nut's and bolts from your Hardware stores they come from bad sources. They are plated to look like Stainless, but they aren't, it's common steel. How to check you ask? Stainless is Non-Magnetic, bring a magnet with you while you shop.

Re: The Corvette pulling the trailer with the Harley. I noticed the wet streets and man that’s scary. corvettes aren’t good on wet streets anyway and having the weight pushing it while braking is definitely sketchy. The bike alone is over 800 pounds and with the trailer he’s towing over a half ton.

I’m 57, disabled, and I live full time in my rv since 3 years now in Europe where legislation doesn’t allow to stay more than 24h on the same spot). Never would I give my rv away for anything. That’s my only belonging, that’s my home. It’s nice and cosy and I don’t pay a crooked landowner or a rent to the government. I don’t trust any of them to provide anything better for me that I already have. What they want is us owning nothing, and unless they chase me at gun point, there’s no chance of me getting back into that shtty system ever again. I found a farmer which lended me a tiny parking place and I pay 350€ electricity each month, which I find already insane, but hey... at least I’m done with moving everyday.

Joe, I have a sister-in-law who's a drug addict and an alcoholic, and her boyfriend was one of those people who skated the system and constantly broke the law. He had one of those class C motorhomes that was a danger just driving, let alone being parked, and it caught on fire and burned to the ground, and he left it for someone else to lean it up. Most of these people don't want help, so they should go live in Slab City. And if they don't want to obey the law, then they could at least stop making it such an isore.

No, it’s a good idea. It’s a good idea to have cones and flares to warn people ahead of you to move over. You should’ve pulled off the side of the road and did that said it right in the middle of the road so just remember always when you go to check your things always check before you leave. Maybe the best bet next time to put a camera underneath your wheel wells just to see if you had broken ones. Maybe the best bet is just to do that so you don’t have this problem again, but you can put up conesand triangles and flares to warn people that you’re back there

I met a big rig mechanic, hdt big, summer of 2023, I asked his recommendation he list three, n one was the Falken Wildpeak AT3W. Of the three choices it had superiour wet stopping distance. N being that is what my truck camper is most likely to be in vs snow, it was my choice, but they came handy for crossing Montana in the winter, to head for warm weather 😂. 🍻
@RVingWithJoe6 күн бұрын
Yeah they are AT4Ws now from what I understand but the stopping power in rain/snow looked to fall short with KO3s. These also were just a bit less in price.

@@SpykersB - The nice thing about running a heavier load truck tire on a passenger vehicle is that most have much thicker sidewalls, meaning that if you get a flat, you can keep driving safely without a total loss of control. Great for safety, unless you are like me and just continued to drive for 100 miles until the tire started falling apart. 🤣

According to off road magazine tests, mud tires are better than snow tread tires in snow. (Excludes studded tires.) the wider rounded basin “U” shaped gaps expel snow and mud better. 😊
@RVingWithJoe6 күн бұрын
I needed a general tire that could handle dirt and snow while most miles will be burned towing on the freeway… this is the compromise choice. Mud gets a little aggressive and louder.

Maybe, if there were public spaces for houseless rv-ers there could be some incentive for upkeep. Example if the space around your rv is clean and free of excess baggage then the resident of that rv goes to the top of the list for day-work. OR repairing a flat tire gets a bag of food. washing the rv = gift card. etc
