I went to the Steinway in SF one time years ago, and they also sold Bosendorfer, and the salesman said that Bosendorfer spends more time on their frame than Steinway does on the whole piano. It's a very well made piano as one can expect given its price. They are owned by Yamaha nowadays.

Wow thank you for sharing! I'm curious, how was your experience playing the Steinway? After some time with the Bosendorfer it's definitely got a place in my heart, all of the piano is really to my taste. 185VC sounds absolutely amazing, can't wait to do the review on the 225 Imperial!

@@pianovertu So far with my experience listening and playing, if I can call what I can do playing, is that Bösendorfer definitely have a distinct sound that I can't put my finger on. Schimmel and Estonia are the other brand that sound different, and of course the U1 for upright but I was more talking about grand piano above. I played a Fazioli and C.Bechstein side by side but couldn't really tell the difference except that they are top class instrument. Some may say it is blasphemy but it was based on one experience.

@@pianovertu Pianos being made out of many wooden parts are hand made and at the super high end like Hamburg Steinway, Bosendorfer, Fazioli, etc. have a lot of time spent on regulating the keys so that the pressure is just right and the hammers are tweaked perfectly. The typical american manufacturer is in a bit of a hurry and i suspect expects the dealer to put the finishing touches on it. But there are no bad piano companies left in business. it is shrinking market and one by one the companies fall to Chinese competitors. I was very fond of Feurich pianos which are only slightly available as the company fizzled out. They offered really gorgeous veneers; used Renner hammers, and was a quality instrument.

@pianovertuАй бұрын
The one and only difference would be the size, and therefore different volume output. The C6 stand at 126cm height compared to 132cm on the C8. That's about it, if space or sound output are factors for you, you would choose accordingly, both are excellent upright pianos of uncompromising quality! Hope this helps.

Proud companion to a SK5. Haven't experienced anything like it in my life. It's outstanding. Makes you smile cry and laugh at times. Most stunning tone, fundamentally strong with gorgeous colour. For audiophiles here, if you can imagine what a tube amplifier does to high fidelity audio. A Shigeru does to every day pieces. My most life changing instrument. Nothing like them. Stage, concert or home. Especially at home. Just gorgeous to play to listen to and experience and stunning to look inside.

@izz0408Ай бұрын
@pianovertu thank you. I shall definitely cherish it. Out of the entire SK lineup I think the SK5 has the most balanced tone. Again since I am also an audiophile, and a critical listener, I find that for the right size room, the SK5 has just the right amount of warmth, power, and clarity, in the bass and completely transparent and revealing across the entire octave range. The SK3 is also a beautiful instrument and while the 6 and 7 are gorgeous.. they are powerful, and definately better suited for large projection. The 200cm SK5 can rival most 210 or 212cm grands in ability and power. The action and regulation is jaw dropping. Imagine, I can voice a ppp on the 5th finger of my left hand while the thumb of the same hand is at mf .. it's just phenomenal.

@@Javier-jn6cc that is the C8 concert, they do not. Perhaps they chose to not add agraffes in upper register to make it more singing and add some harmonics. I’m sure the choice was made wisely and backed by research of Bechstein engineers. Hope this helps!

I like the K300 sound and touch, but I have a small studio room (about 8 square meteres). Do you think that is too loud for such small room?
@pianovertu2 ай бұрын
@@pedfuego I don’t think it’s gonna be too much sound, the K-300 is already pretty compact in size standing at 122cm tall, smaller one being k-200 at 114cm tall. The volume levels are pretty similar, but you do have a noticeable difference in bass sound, k-300 has a thicker and rounder bass in my option than k-200, thanks to the size of course. If volume is something you are worried about (neighbours, family and whatnot) I’d advise you to look into Kawai’s ATX or Aures series (both have silent options). But if you’re worried about it just being too loud for yourself, that would not be the case in my opinion. Hope this helps!

Is the audio recorded in direct line?
@wesleya53423 ай бұрын
1:10 into the video it states that the audio source is two microphones. So you’re hearing the piano’s speaker outputs. If this were direct input sound, the quality would be even better sounding. But the speakers are not bad. It’ll sound amazing when playing the instrument and listening with headphones.
@pianovertu2 ай бұрын
Indeed as the person below kindly pointed out, for this one the audio sources is a stereo mic set-up. When recording with Line In you hear the sound engine in its purest form, I find that it can sometimes be a bit misleading and doesn't represent the actual sound of the piano which is transmitted through its speakers.
