I really appreciate the documentation effort, but didn't solve the only question I have, the very origin of the logo...that alone can explain many things.

So much history was skipped over, with the dodge brothers owning stock in ford when they left they could have bankrupted ford but took payments to help ford out.

Who would have thoughts getting rid of full size elegant Cadillacs with their own unique engine designs combined with cutting edge technology and styling the cars as trend setters and replacing them with rebadged Chevrolet Suburbans and Opel's of Europe would be a recipe for disaster... If only someone could have saw that coming when they killed downsized Cadillacs in 1977...

As long as Cadillac is under GMC, it will not move forward . they have to be independent company . Same happend to OPEL , Opel was better than Audi but GMC runied it very quickly by cutting corners policy .

and now with vehicle manufactures trying too produce EV vehicles which horrible expensive sadly too say but you have many vehicles out there over 100 yrs old and r gassed powered need too slow down with EV i would rather have a hybrid gas/ev and probably more cost effective so what happens in a storm and no electricity is available for days or weeks ev is worthless and we here in illinois had a cold snap temps dipped below zero and ev didnt charge up lol goback too the drawing board sorry

So, correct me if I am wrong. Is the acronym GMC for the truck brand stands for General Motors Coach or General Motors Corporation?

I think Cadillac was never meant to be a small car, the reason for the company success, was that it was always one of the biggest car if not the biggest on the market. Always elegant. In all the films from the 20`s to the 50`s, 60`s and 70`s, you can clearly see Cadillac was always one of the most imposing and elegant. So maybe, just maybe, the fact that Cadillac went the same way as the other automakers, smaller, and well you know, the environment, ruin its reputation. Today, Cadillac is trying to justify its existence with a small car with powerful engines that any carmaker can produce, that is not the point, for Cadillac to succeed, it has to go back to its roots, the one of a kind, the one and only!

This is completely incorrect towards the end. Pretty much from the 1970 period forward to present is completely inaccurate. Please check your sources. When Iacocca was brought to Chrysler (specifically to right the sinking ship) he sought loans from the government. Further the merger with AMC was specifically so that Chrysler could gain access to the keep brand who already had the Cherokee and Grand Cherokee (the latter under development) . You need to be more specific in why the Germans decided to acquire Chrysler and essentially lying by calling it a merger of equals to sell it to the company and the American public/stockholders. When in fact all Daimler wanted was the cash that Chrysler was hoarding from actually selling cars. Also, the information center on its last financial crisis resulting from Daimler siphoning off all the cash, products and development dollars for their own benefit, and the Cerberus capital furthering the companies near death experience. The government, at the request of the industry GM, Chrysler & Ford was bailed out again and basically gave the company to fiat with the promise to pay back the loan they were given from Tarp and the direct bail out funds. Fixing the end of this “tube history” would greatly improve its accuracy.

no matter how excellent you are in your actions or how wretched you are in your deeds, mostly the definition of friends and relatives comes down to stealing something from you anyhow and by any means eventually with time,so even this man or any other person who ever has created anything sustainable for ages actually persevered more than winning in life

As a kid in the 60's up here in Canada GM trucks were everywhere . They were designated 910 for half ton, 920 for 3/4 ton and 930 for one ton. The 960 was popular for medium trucks and I'd be amazed at the size of the big 980's with their 11:00 X 22.5 tires.

What utter crap! Why is it none of the film you use, them some comic BS at the beginning, then talking about a "single Cylinder engine" and show/steeel film from Ford vs Ferrari movie, where they are looking at racing engine on the dyno -which clearly isnt a race engine being it has a automatic choke Hlley on it!.... show us GMC of the early days, not BS! I give you a thumbs down

I am so sad that the truck division has become so “soccer-mom-ified”, as I say. What I mean is that, back in the day, pickups and small SUVs were for dads and boyfriends, station wagons and minivans were for moms and girlfriends. So when they (truck companies) take the luxurious inside of a minivan and take a rugged design of a truck on the outside, in an attempt to grab everyone, they pushed away everyone.
