I saw this 2002 Angels team play the Blue Jays in Toronto that summer. Roy Halladay got the start for the Jays, but the Halos prevailed, 1-0. There was an old timers game that followed and I received tons of autographs from Spaceman, Henke, Guzman, etc. For me, that was baseball heaven.

The best thing is the Angels comeback...the worst is Dusty Baker thinking it's a good idea to allow his 3.. that's right THREE, 3, year old son to be a bat boy in the biggest games of the year 👎👎👎👎

Talk about lightning in a bottle. The fact that none of these guys, besides Eckstein, went on to any post season play on the teams they ended up with shows how the collective was greater than any one guy. The closest thing we had to a "star" was Salmon.

If nick adenhart didnt get killed by a drunk driver, if kendrys morales doesnt shatter his ankle. We were a powerhouse of a franchise that got derailed by tragedy

I thought the Angels would go on to form a dynasty. They never returned to the World Series, even though they later added Torii, Vlad Sr., Trout, and Ohtani.

As an Angel fan o obviously live this (who doesnt). I remmeber clinging to games on my radio at work for years... you knew around July this year was different. Ill poont oit here to younger fans, everyone obviously knows how the playoffs went. But one thing thats great in this time capsul is the battle with Oakland heading sown the stretch. Oakland was amazing that year. I remember having drinks witn Adam Kennedy one night and i brought that up. I told him I was glad they drew the Yankees in the first round instead of Oakland. And he said they felt the exact same way. Its too bad most fans dont remember that era... when the Angels and Oakland were two powerhouse teams...

Among them, there was no genius like Shohei Ohtani or Mike Trout. But they were a great team and the Angels won. In other words, no matter how many big stars you line up, if you don't have a good team, you won't win.

Not to mention that almost that entire team was home grown... For the younger fans, you probably can't appreciate how satisfying it was to watch the group you saw come up in the 90s, constantly "close but no cigar", to watching it all come together. This org used to a freaking player factory.... rolling out solid ballplayers year after year.... .... hopefully they figure out how to do it again some day soon...

Not a huge Scioscia fan but he did have them peaking at the right time. Not any superstars just a real team that played well together when they had to. I went to one play-off game against Minnesota and it was fun! Strange how most are hardly even known now (Fulmer, Glaus Kennedy) only Salmon and Anderson are visible.

Been an Angels fan since '75. 1982, 1986 and 1995 were heartbreaking and 2002 almost did the same thing. Years of falling short, this was truly a complete team effort of any WS championship team I've seen. This video was put on DVD and my dad, brother and I all gave each other copies of it for Christmas. Love my Halos!

I was at Game 4 and 5 of the ALCS. I got to see AK's three home runs. That was just awesome. I wasn't able to get WS tickets, but I was extremely grateful to have been there in person to witness erasing the heartaches of my childhood (1982 and 1986). Hugging and high-fiving strangers and being near-deaf from the thunder sticks, and shouting, "Let's go ANGELS!" All the way back down the ramp and out to the parking lot, with my brother, sister, and dad with me, was an experience that I will never, ever forget. I am so thankful they went on and finished the job. 82 and 86? I don't even remember you anymore.

Sometimes, to reach baseball heaven, you have to go through hell. From 6-14, potentially having 41 games back in the AL West. It was truly a magical year for the Angels to reach baseball heaven. 43 comeback wins, and it was truly magical when they came back in game 6.

Such a storybook series. The fact that the Angels were the underdogs after starting the season 6-14, and were able to persevere in order to win the World Series against a team with the HR king and arguably one of the best hitters of all time, truly is an inspirational feat. Not to mention, that during 2002, the A's deployed their renowned "moneyball" strategy and enjoyed great success, Francisco Rodriguez established his prowess as a young reliever, and the historic game 6 comeback in the World Series. Such an amazing narrative to look back on, even 20+ years later.

It funny how bad they (thr angels) screwed it up the next decade... If anyone said a decade ago "the Angels are going to sign Alvert Pujols. And bring up the best player in decades named Mike Trout. And will make one playoff series in the next decade" Nobody would believe it Especially when you add "and then this guy named Ohtani will come along, as a Cy Young caliber pitcher and MVP caliber hitter. And it won't make a difference" Lol.. Hoping 2023 is the turnround...

Also other heroes like Glaus, Erstad, and blue chip players and the title says it all ‘Heaven In Seven’
