Good video can you please clarify where to stop on the last exercise the avoidance I thought front wheel had to be in line with the 2 blue cones or Is it front wheel between the 2 blue cones anywhere eg before or after cones or exactly in the middle of the cones thanks
@ARTMCT
@ARTMCT 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Iain, the only two time you stop with the "wheel in the box" (Blue cones) Firstly after the slow ride in a straight line, and second on the controlled stop after the first higher speed circuit ride. ALL other times (emergency stop & collision avoidance) you are stopping "in line" with the blue cones! No set distance! Thanks ART Team

I failed the Mod 1 twice in 8 days. 1st time, I just clipped a cone on the swerve test. 2nd time, I dropped a foot down in the U-Turn!! Just passed it 2 weeks ago. The trick is: Believe you can do it, take a deep breath and relax before EVERY part of it!! If you're tense, it WILL go wrong!! Good luck dude!!!

Please in mph, even if the test says 50 kph we don’t measure speeds or distance in the uk in kilometres.
@ARTMCT
@ARTMCT 5 жыл бұрын
I believe we use both metric and imperial in the UK currently. The test itself is designed in Metric, hence all the measurements being metres and Kph, so for example the U-Turn is 7.5 meters (24ft & 7in) space between Slalom cones 4.5 metres (14ft & 9in) 50 Kph = 31.07 Mph 49 Kph = 30.45 Mph 48 Kph = 29.83 Mph We hope this is this easier for you to understand now? Please remember WE do not make the law, UK government does that so if you would like it all changed to imperial measurements then please feel free to lobby them for it to be changed! In the meantime we will keep teaching with "new money" measurements as that is what is on the official D.V.S.A. test marking sheet (DL25) Regards ART MCT

Failed mine yesterday as I didn't stop quick enough on the emergency stop. It was wet in on the course and failed because I had an extended stopping distance... there was no allowance for the wet conditions so the dude failed me... really didn't fancy a slip and fall to satisfy the same result as a dry stopping distance.. Prick!
@Jafmanz
@Jafmanz 5 жыл бұрын
the distance given for the stop is actually the controlled stop distance not the emergency stop distance. To be blunt that stop distance is more than enough even in the wet. It sucks that you failed and I know how you must feel but there is no allowance for the wet as the allowance is already there!

4 -5 mph. Throttle and clutch control are key in this part of the test!
@Hirotoro4692
@Hirotoro4692 6 жыл бұрын
I always sucked at using the back brake with the throttle for slow speed stuff. After passing though I bought an electric motorbike where it's totally different, no gyroscopic engine movements and much smoother, gradual throttle mean you don't need to use the back brake at all. In fact it just made things harder. The bike has regen (engine braking) and no clutch so the throttle is all I need to do low speed stuff. Give it a little twist to stabilise the bike if need be, and let go of it to slow down. 99.999% of you will be still taking tests on petrol bikes, so keep paying attention to your instructor, not me :P

jammydodgerman your a star you and thanks for all your advice and feedback. everyone keeps saying just do it on a 600 as it’s a lot easier than doing it on a 125. he just made me feel uncomfortable as I couldn’t get use to the speed. I was going to fast then it was too slow, was doing my head in!!! want this license more than anything in the world. Congratulations on passing your Mod1. did you find it ok? any minors mate? any tips?
@jammydodgerman
@jammydodgerman 6 жыл бұрын
My instructor told me to leave the motorbike in 2nd gear and get used to the sound of the engine when doing 50kph (31mph) during practice. That way, when it comes to the test you don't have to worry about looking at the speedometer. Is it just the speed trap maneuvers you were having trouble with? If youve got the other maneuvers figured out you're almost there!

I have my Mod 1 tomorrow as well, I'm fully confident on a bike and on my first lesson my instructor said I am test ready, but doing it on a 600 Bandit which isn't the lightest of bikes with a crap turning circle lol, one tiny error of judgement and it's a fail for the whole thing. Which I think is a bit daft if you show perfect bike control for the rest of it.
