I dont get why it's called 'ski erg' when no one does it like a skiing stroke? I remember some dude telling me 'noooo, you need to be covering 180 degrees of travel or more with the handles' - like when do skiers do that? It was and continues to be fine for me doing it as a XC skier does it
@CrossFitFibre
@CrossFitFibre Ай бұрын
When in comp the tech on Ski Erg will differ for ‘real skiing’. Training for actual skiing should have that arm travel and some do get that movement at high speed take offs. But hey most of us who use ski ergs will never ski anyway. 😂👊🏻

The Stronger your grip, the easier it is for you to do bar work during exercises and is synonymous with a better lifestyle and longer mortality.
@clementdurou3981
@clementdurou3981 7 ай бұрын
This study, published in The Lancet, shows that grip strength is associated with a variety of mortality causes, and yes, it is a better predictor than systolic blood pressure for cardiovascular mortality. However, there is a difference between correlation and causation. In the same study, the authors concluded with this sentence: 'Further research is needed to identify determinants of muscular strength and to test whether improvement in strength reduces mortality and cardiovascular disease.' There is no evidence, based on this study, that increasing grip strength can lead to reduced mortality. It is just an indicator. People who are nearing death often have weaker grip strength. This is the interpretation I derived from this study: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25982160/ Please correct me if I'm wrong or if we are not discussing the same study.

@@CrossFitFibreisn't soreness because of muscles getting cut, so isn't is stupid to ask for more force when the body is healing? Is like a rubber band asking to get heal cutting more
@CrossFitFibre
@CrossFitFibre 9 ай бұрын
No mate, your muscles are not "severed or cut" they fray off. to assist in the healing, movement or "more squatting" helps to realign them again, so they can reattach again. Also not asking to smash the same weights/volume.
