Cool video, they look nice. I want some like this for my Dyna. Question do these flop around while riding? as it doesn’t seem to be secured or mounted in anyway to the sides. any problems with it rubbing against the bike? anything you don’t want to? I’m concerned that if the bags are basically empty, they might flop around a bit in the wind.

The seat does a great job holding it down. But, they also come with zip ties and can secure the bags to the frame. So they really wont move.

Dude the parts fitment on FXRs is ridiculous. I bought an exhaust from a well-know, reputable brand that was claimed to be a direct fit for my 85 FXRT, but it totally wasn’t because the earlier FXR frames had a mount for the exhaust behind the swingarm pivot (the “donut”) which didn’t clear the new exhaust bracket. I ended up solving it by spacing it out some but it was really annoying because it wasn’t a cheap exhaust and it was sold as a direct fit to my year and model. I’ve got the bike on the road now and I’m also done messing with it for the foreseeable future
@freebirdsgarage

HEY JAY... Just popped in to see your vid. Don't sweat your editing as far as I see just turn on camera and talk. I know it's the editing that makes it seem that way but I would bet on more entertaining and longer videos with one take and leave the F ups in... I took time for this comment because I want to see what viewers think about this statement... "It has always been my understanding that Club Style Bike means that any thing you want to do mechanically or visually is fine, as long as NO ONE who seen the bike with the club could ever later be able to say it was the one with ___ ___.". That means even the one with the burnt out turn signal or red bandanna tied to the handle bar. Only "It may have been there, I'm not sure officer."... What does everyone still reading this think? Cobar in the Husker state...

I also have a 98 xlc 1200. And I went through the entire manual and bought every tool they listed. Along with a floor Jack from harbor freight. I live in an apartment, so I put all the tools into a Milwaukee Packout box system. And a rubber liner to with walls for when I need to do work. Plus rabbit ears handlebars, helps get it into the apartment at night. Plus as many spare parts as I could find. Along with a year’s supply of fluids, filters and anything else.

agreed! Make it work for you. When I lived in Seattle, I lived in a 4th floor apartment. And luckily had a very wide front door to the apartment, along with a service elevator to move stuff up and down, so I’d just bring it up with me and into the apartment.

Hahaha you've been put on notice. Now more a curiosity question as I'm sure I'll be sanding the sporty soon, why not use a palm sander for all of this?
@freebirdsgarage
@freebirdsgarage 21 күн бұрын
Just depends on the job and how much standing. If you put too much pressure on it you can burn through paint or material. The other reason would be creating too many valleys in the paint. With your hand you feel everything and get a super nice consistency on the surface. Honestly if you have questions let me know once you dive into it, love to help if you need it.

Because of this guy, I damaged my bike. For spark plugs Especially for NGK never use anti-seize lubricant it will damage your engine. Hate this channel!!!
@freebirdsgarage
@freebirdsgarage 21 күн бұрын
Sorry, to hear about that. Always refer to the manual on your exact bike. This is a 1998 sportster mentioned in the video. The plugs are OEM Champion copper and to use anti-seize stated by the Harley-Davidson manual. I never mentioned NGK to be used and you should never use anti-seize with those plugs.
