That's true. I've experienced it. I was amazed when I saw it grow in white sand, unbelievable. I found that the nutrients it needs is available in the soil, only for the micro organisms in it to make them available to the plant. It's indeed an interesting plant, the taste and shelf life is completely different from most commercial farmers that uses fertilizers on them.

Madam i second what he is saying but you can apply contact insecticide and avoid systemic insecticide. The contact insecticides doesn't have residual effects on the plant. The systemic insecticide remains in the plant for two weeks maximum. Most contact insecticides preharvest interval (PHI) is 3 days

I think Indian Hemp is a no go area for Ghana. Ghanaian institutions are so weak and cannot implement strict regulations to handle the cultivation of IH. We should focus on our cocoa production, make the chocolate here in Ghana and export the chocolate instead of the raw cocoa beans
