thanks for the vid!! My floor is just like that in the fall, but one section of the wall where I suspect the problem is located, is a fireplace, which i made the mistake of perhaps letting contractor install floor too close against the brick mortar and resurface the brick wall with large tiles that mostly glued on brick but sit on that edge of floorings, am i doomed for having to cut along the edge of the tile and use additional trim to cover it up?
@XDIY
@XDIY 4 күн бұрын
It's hard to know for sure... but if you have a floating laminate floor (like in my case) and the edge is glued or pressed with tiles of the wall it sounds problematic. Is the lifting of the floor close to this fireplace side on this room?
@DDLuvS4ever
@DDLuvS4ever 4 күн бұрын
@@XDIY thank you for the reply, the lifting is not close to the floor, perhaps six rows away and next to a sliding door to the patio. I have already cut open the sliding door side and it looks like enough expansion gap, yea im very much thinking the closer rows to the fireplace is glued down......

Is your mitre saw broken ? Why you always making 2 passes
@XDIY
@XDIY 4 күн бұрын
No, it's not broken. I usually make several passes depends on the hardness and resistance of the material that I cut. If it's solid hardwood, or in this case particle boards with melamine, I found it better to first make a low cut of the melamine so the cut of the edge is cleaner... and then a full cut. BTW the blade I'm using is more for solid wood so I tried get cleaner cuts of the melamine that way.

With a Sliding Compound Miter saw you are better off to make at least two sliding passes thru material to provide the cleanest cut with less blow/tear out/ Just a technique to get used to doing with them.

It can be due to lack of space like in my video. I guess that you could see if it's wet but it's hard to know. The best video about replacing the Plange! Great work, Thanks! Is there any way to add a pipe in the electric dud to drain water into a bucket in small quantities without opening the plange, like making a short cut in the pipe that enters the home? Of course I will do it for the next time after draining all the water from the plange the 1st time. My problem is that I have no place on the hall and I'm planning to use a garbage bucket but I do not know if it has any hole in it, and if it has I could make flooding water on the hall. BTW the dud is installed on a special room located in the floor hall.

Hi Jorge, thanks for the good feedback! I didn't try the way you asked so I don't have an experience with it. Take the below advice with a limited guarantee :) I know from other people's questions that you may drain the water heater with these steps: - Close the main water. - Release water presure at the house from the faucets. - Remove the "pressure release valve" from the water heater. - connect a pipe instead, to drain the water. - This will drain most of the water but you will still have about 10 liters remaining... - The remaining water should be drain from the plunge anyway. - Return the "pressure release valve" as before... Other way - I think that you can also remove only the 'heating element' from the plunge and not the plunge completely, for slower drain, but I didn't try it. Note that what I did in the video, is very strong flow, so I don't recommend opening the plunge completely at once. Good luck!

@@XDIY I did the following: 1) Remove the heating element and replaced it 2) Use the big bin from the garbage, it was OK and did not have any crack on it, but I did not realize that in the area of the wheels there is a little bit of leakage. I used also an extra small bin to not let all the water fill the big bucket, then I could transport it through the elevator because the total weight maybe was 80kg instead 150kg. 3) I did the solution of the pressure release valve as a preemptive solution for the next problem. 3a) I put a T connection pipe with a tap so you can open and close it the next time and use a small bucket as many times as necessary until the tank is completely emptied. 3b) Tomorrow I will put it to work and I''ll let you know. I took some pictures for you in case you are interested to see my solution. Laila Tov!

My superking size ottoman bed use 120kg pressure pistons . Recently when closing the bed , the hinges from one side ripped off from the frame . They were using exactly the same nuts. @XDIY

What you suggested as a fix sounds good.. Maybe also consider drilling a new bigger hole in the existing place of the threaded inserts, put inside a wooden patch with wood glue, and drill new holes to the threaded inserts. Or, put the existing inserts in the holes with Epoxy glue... Of course it's hard to know without knowing the exact materials of the bed (mdf, wood...) and other things. :)
