I am booked for BA business class to Gatwick on an old 777-200 and I have some concerns that you didn’t address. I am flying alone, in a window seat. Does this mean I’m going to be face-to-face with a stranger for 10 hours? Also, how do I get in and out of my seat to get to the bathroom? Do I have to climb over a person who has their seat flat? In addition, does the flight attendant have to pass my meal trays, beverages , etc. across the person in the “B” seat? That seems weird. Please respond if you see this comment. Thank you!

I can answer your questions, after the safety demonstration you can raise the partition so you don't need to look at the other person. Most of the seats require you to climb over the legs of the person ahead of you if you are in a window seat. There is one seat near the bulkhead where you don't have to do that. Yes, the flight attendant has to pass your food over the companion seat. Have a nice flight.

All 777s to and from Heathrow have been retrofitted with the new Club Suites, while all long haul aircraft at Gatwick have the old business seats 👍🏻😊

I flew from London to Berlin 3 times on Club Europe. And when I wasn't approached by my name I didn't care. So calling by your name isn't important.

It's not important, no, but all these little touches add up to make an overall first class experience. Strip away all the little things and you have a seat, plate of food and that's all. I love being addressed by my name, but if you prefer otherwise then that's fine too 😊 The most important thing is that you enjoy the experience!

Great video and glad you had a fantastic flight on this aircraft with BA. I'm doing a similar return journey from Las Vegas to Gatwick on this type of aircraft and booked 20C as it was no fee for me. Looks like the legroom is fantastic. I've been flying premium the last few trips so this is encouraging. Thanks for sharing.

I'm sorry about your bad day, but lovely video as always. I never tried ITA Airways business class, just the economy class in both short and long haul which was quite good but not perfect. As an italian, I was happy you wanted to try ITA but yeah, lot of things could be improved. That little sweet is called Cannolo siciliano and your face says it all 😂 you should try it, well, in Sicily, if you want to taste an amazing one. And about the food, this may not sound business at all but I still think ITA should serve a nice hot slice of pizza instead of a sandwich. Could you imagine that?

Hahaha, I know the feeling! 🤣 You will do it one day, don't worry! 💪🏻 Just try and read up on how to earn points through credit card spending and eventually you will get there. Trigger the bonus points on a BA Amex card and after a couple of years' spending you could have enough points to fly London-New York in BA business class! When that day comes, let me know - I can't wait to hear about it 😁

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it 😁 Oo, good question! I'd say the BA Club Suites seat is actually on par with Qatar to be honest. Maybe BA's seat is more soft and 'squishy' (which for me is more comfortable!), while Qatar's is more firm but still comfortable. As for width wise, Qatar definitely takes the win. Feels a lot wider (numbers wise it is 2 inches wider)

Have just booked with British Airways to go to Punta Cana. Is there only one toilet for economy? Im sure the seat map was showing one behind the curtain? Were you far enough away that the smell was not over whelming. On long flights, they usually get unbearable . For some reason, the seat guru map is showing economy starts at 26? All the people on their saying which seats are better are from years ok. Could you book as soon as you booked your seat? Ours says 24hrs before? Did they ask you if you were physically able to open the door as its by an exit? Sorry for all the questions, looking for a seat with legroom as my grandsons had a major operation on his leg.

Very nice video. For families, partners, friends the yin-yang arrangement is fine. For solo travellers it's awful. I much prefer the newer BA Club World seats (or other airlines). My problems with the old seat are it's narrow, poor storage, power point very inaccessible, foot rest flimsy and no direct aisle access for window seats (with a few exceptions). Of course it was innovative - but that was 20 years ago. Innovation has to continue! The BA FAs are pretty much always top notch.

I remember when it was first introduced. The flat bed was such an improvement over the traditional business class seat that the benefits far outweighed the minor issues. I did a lot of long haul travel and the best seats were upstairs on the 747-400. Much more space and plenty of storage. 64A & K were my favourites as you did not have to climb over your neighbour's feet to get out! Of course the central two side by side seats had to be avoided at all costs when travelling alone!! I still go on those aging Gatwick 777s for holidays and still enjoy the benefits of sitting next to my wife.

Fascinating to hear your experience about when this seat was first introduced. I can't imagine when it must have been like to fly in this when it first came out - the peak of luxury travel! Ah yes, the Queen of the Skies. With the storage bins running along the side, right? They were amazing! You wouldn't hear any more complaints about the storage with this seat had those storage bins been implemented fleet-wide. Wow, seats 64 A and K sound amazing - basically strips out every complaint about the seat (no climbing over your neighbour and the storage! It's great to hear you still enjoy flying in it today for your holidays and that, like me, enjoy the advantage of being able to sit next to your partner without being a whole suite away from them. And there's always the privacy divider if you've had enough! Haha. Thank you for sharing your experience 😁 Wonderful to read.

Completely agree with you. I too really like the old product. Great when flying with a partner or friend and your legs are completely unrestricted when seat is turned into a bed. However the aisle seat not as good as the window seat. Great review. Have liked and subscribed

Exactly, it really is great that you can fly with a partner or friend right next to you, but still be in your own private space with no restrictions when lying flat. Many of the newest business seats still fall short in those regards. You're certainly right about the aisle seat... I feel bad not letting my girlfriend try the window seat now! Haha. Thanks Robbie 😁

Wow, that's not a bad airline to have only had your business class experiences with! 🤩 Haha. I really want to try Emirates' business class some day! The A380 experience must have been incredible! Be prepared to lower your expectations when it comes to BA... they are great, don't get me wrong, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it, but they certainly lag behind the middle eastern airlines.

Nice review. Agree with the storage problem. It seems they didn't factor in the lack of access to the drawer while the seat is fully flat. But the design was a novel concept when first introduced.
