Thank you, Arenda. I have attempted to make this mitten for my program 8 times. I wish that this link could have been included in the instructions. But, I feel emboldened to make attempt #9. Gratefully, Kathleen. 2:42

I watched this a second time thinking I might “get” it the second time around. I am even more confused than before. Probably because the poster is a Master Knitter, she has too much information to share. She was trying to show all the possible errors and complications rather than just first showing us a simple buttonhole in its entirety. Was a waste of time.

Thank you for this video. Maybe it’s me, but I have no idea what I watched. It was too fast nd not crystal clear. Next time please go slow and repeat the technique 2-3 times for a clearer presentation. Thank you for taking the time.

Just tried the technique of wrapping the yarn clockwise for purling--its great! Thanks so much, Arenda. Just to clarify, your aren't purling through the back loop, though, right? You are wrapping "backwards" from the normal wrap. I'll be using this technique for my Level 1 swatches (as I re-knit several!). Love your videos and articles.

Hi Arenda, your video is very helpful. Di you havevor know of any resource that goes into more depth about to handle the edges when swapping 2 colours at a time. I am knitting a Fairisle garment flat and just can't get a good edge on the side of the change over. Thank you

I agree with comments below. This was absolutely useless because you couldn't see anything clearly or understand what she was talking about.. 😒. Has anyone found anything else? I'm trying to do the shoulders of a sweater that's in seed stitch and I can't for the life of me figure out what to do.

Thank you for posting this essential information about binding off, something that most videos about binding off fail to cover. I knit a lot of market bags that have a long strap, so you have to bind off X number of stitches around the top of the bag, then work Y number of stitches, then back to binding off X number of stitches, and finally working the last Y number of stitches. Thank goodness I had friends who knit, and they helped me with counting bind off stitches. I always count bound off stitches out loud. Then you have to remember that your last bound off stitch in a section is also your first stitch in the working section that follows. Your explanation about thinking in terms of binding off columns instead of stitches was new to me, and I will remember to do that. Many thanks!

Another great tutorial Arenda! I always love it when George visits as well! :) Quick question, is a figure 8 needed on the bind off end as well or only at the start? Ty!

Stitches aren't twisted until after they're knitted or purled, and only if they're knitted or purled into the trailing leg. The stitches you said are oriented in a twisted fashion are perfectly normal Eastern mounted stitches.

So basically, the larger the needle, the larger the holes? No matter what the weight of the yarn is?

Those swatches are perfect! Thank you! I'm just a beginner and I was searching various videos to find what different knitting needle thickness would make on the outcome of the yarn. Finally I see your video. It's perfect. Thanks you for that, really helps so much!

I've tried this as a continental knitter and I still can't tighten up my seed st. :( I feel like I've got a death grip on the yarn and needles. I give it just a tug, wrap the purl, then bring it back to knit and still have a hole. not sure what else to do. Lighter fluid? lol

This video helped me to fix my missed yarn over. Thank you so much. I slowed down the video to see better. But I went back to untwist my stitches also. The video was unclear about that. But good job. It helped me anyway.

I've also seen the KSP done with slipping the 2nd st kw to the right needle and slipping them both back to the left needle before doing the passover. That may tighten up the looseness that you mention.

This was SO helpful to me. I was sailing through what seemed to be an easy pattern today when I came against this very scenario. The only difference was the the pattern writer instructed to knit to the marker (previously placed), then bind off stitches until the next marker. I was at a total standstill. I wasn't even sure I'd even find a video on how to do it, or quite how to even word a search. Yay for me, your video was the first hit!
