Actually, I just performed this YO, K2tog buttonhole technique on a horizontal button band, and to clarify, I think you look at where the YO is, what is the 2nd stitch on the LH needle, and perform a K2tog or P2tog, depending on what the 2nd stitch is? It did work and I was able to maintain the 5-stitch button band in uninterrupted seed stitch. Thanks for the posting as it keeps us on track for perfect knitting techniques. Judith

I need to make a larger buttonhole in seed stitch. Like a 3/4 inch buttonhole as opposed to a 1/2 inch buttonhole. Can you tell me how to do that? Do I just yarnover twice?

Do you always prefer a k2tog or p2tog over a bind off, in seed st?

I don't use decreases in bind offs.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I meant, to create a buttonhole by binding off 1 or 2, then casting back on in next row, vs k2tog or p2tog, to create a buttonhole space.

+Keepingourhome I make my horizontal buttonholes to this technique. It produces a stronger buttonhole.

Thank you for this video. Maybe it’s me, but I have no idea what I watched. It was too fast nd not crystal clear. Next time please go slow and repeat the technique 2-3 times for a clearer presentation. Thank you for taking the time.

I watched this a second time thinking I might “get” it the second time around. I am even more confused than before. Probably because the poster is a Master Knitter, she has too much information to share. She was trying to show all the possible errors and complications rather than just first showing us a simple buttonhole in its entirety. Was a waste of time.

You make it way to confusing. Keep it simple.

Agreed. Sorry but this was nonsensical to watch

Pardon my impertinence,,,,, Yes, I agree: you're confusing and your nails are such a distraction... Get them done..
