Thank you for your transparency and honesty and vulnerability. I am where you were and suffering from the plantar fasciitis. Has that improved for you now? I hope so because that is one of the worst pains ever 😫😫

With games like qwixx, I laminate 4 cards and put a mini dry erase marker in the storage box.

We bring a deck of Trivial Pursuit (Trivia)cards with us to a restaurant and go aroundthe table. We go there often enough we know the servers really well. When the servers come to the table with food, drinks, napkins, etc... they like to jimp in and play too. Then people sested at tables next to us want to join in.

We love professor noggin. I take it hiking. We leave the dice at home and just let them pick a number between 1 & 3. Easy peasy.

Thank you for this video! My son is also finishing up grade 6 and I am always looking for new homeschool books for him. Question about the Explorer Academy and City of Spies books. I'm having a hard time finding the at our public library. Do you have to read them in order or do they stand alone?

Coming to this video 4 years later 😊, but I am really interested in this program. I have an almost 9 year old who is very capable in math. He is currently middway through Saxon 76 3rd edition. I don’t want him reaching 87 any faster if possible. My question is I have no idea which book to start. Should I just start at Apples? Or would that be ridiculously too easy? Is it helpful to start from book 1 to get to know the characters and enjoy the series. I will use it as a supplement during maths, since I am trying to slow him down.

Love all the favorites! A friend of mine and I started a homeschool NASP Archery club, so we shoot a Genesis bow. It was so awesome to see the kids go from not ever shooting a target to going to Tournaments along with the public schools in our area. I agree, being a part of archery is a game changer!

My kids did an archery course this past fall and they loved it. I definitely want to do another one for them this coming year. Tell your daughter that it is ok to be sad when a book or series comes to an end. I feel that way all the time.

Great video! You might like Word Teasers Fun Facts bundle (it’s a deck of cards, not a book) and 100 PICS (brain teasers, U.S. states, etc.). Or maybe I got these from one of your previous videos! 🤣 Thanks for all you do!

Some of our favorites have been: Jurassic Park audiobook as a family then a trip to Dinosaur Provincial Park in Sept. We loved it so much we are returning in a few weeks and doing the same guided hike to the centrosaurus bone bed to see the fossils there. Also The Martian (classroom edition!!), Hunger Games, The Hobbit with a feast at the end to celebrate. My youngest and middle started band this year and have absolutely loved it! They have been continuing with private lessons for the past 2 months since band ended to keep up their learning. Favorite games have been Ticket to Ride Legacy (now available on Rainbow resources), Word Teasers world Geography, Galaxy Trucker, Skyjo, and Genius Star. If you want a REAL CHALLENGE, check out Genius Gems. It is so hard I rarely complete them, my son is much better at those games than me. We have also enjoyed some really great documentaries/movies as a family. Cosmos, The Planets, everything David Attenborough, Australias First 4 Billion Years, Walking with Dinosaurs, The Martian, and the movie version of Thirteen Lives, the Thai Soccer team cave rescue❤

We have added trivia this year after your recommendations. I just picked up Word Teasers:World Geography from Rainbow resources and it is our favorite one yet. We have done Professor Noggin and Guess in 10, but we all prefer the Word Teasers game. We studied world geography all year, but playing the word teasers game inspired my daughter to FINALLY want to fill in her entire world map that we didn't get to during the school year😂. I am not sure what all topics are offered, but the world Geography is great and tons of cards!

We are just a few steps behind you and Emily in the tween stages and I was wondering if you had any good resources that would be helpful for this stage. Anything great for emotional regulation, connection, etc.? I’d love to find some supports as we navigate these choppy waters.

I have a 22 year old, 15 year old, 13 year old, 11 year old and almost 9 year old, and its been a ride so far, definitely lots of emotional, hormonal, physical, behavior changes with my 15 and 13 year old but having watched my 22 year old come out the other side of it and knowing how close we are, gives me some hope on the harder parenting teen days 😅. Also myself, my 22 year old, 13 and 11 year old all have our cycles synced, its a fun time of the month at our house 😂
