Thanks for your channel, covering this machine. I’ve watched all of your videos about it, and it has helped me to maintain my crt23. I have two vacuum lines on the right side of the engine, that aren’t connected to anything. One comes from the bottom of the air cleaner box. The other is connected to the carburetor. My machine was running well, went out to start it and it will not start. I don’t know if these hoses have rattled loose, and are causing it to not get fuel? Any help is greatly appreciated. I looked at the rato 740 manual, and couldn’t find a diagram of where they are meant to be. Or if they are meant to plug into each other?

Thank you for a GREAT set of Videos!!! I JUST purchased this machine and after watching many of the videos available, I have some questions about the idlers on the tracks. Is there a way to lubricate those? I see several folks have had issues (not necessarily on the CRT23, but other mini skids). What kind of idler maintenance do you recommend? I used to work with an "oiler" for a construction crew and on the Caterpillars, we had to grease the idlers on the tracks every day...wondering if there are zerks on them or if they can be added. Keep it up with the videos, please. They're very helpful for us newbies.
@TheJBros520
@TheJBros520 3 күн бұрын
The 2 big idlers are enclosed for lubrication. I'm sure at some point.... maybe 250 hrs or 500 hrs should be addressed. I know some members have looked into them. I'll do a video to reask there discovery. To answer your question, only maintenance is getting the tension bolt tight. Grease zerks weekly to daily pending how much your using it. Clean your tracks! keep debris away from them! Check tightness of bolts, hoses etc. Some stuff you will just randomly come upon. Seems like a lot now, but if you do the major stuff. Grind Idlers, Change oil, change hydraulic fluid, Tighten tension bolt, not run machine past 70 degrees for long periods. It's really really good in 30 minute bursts, rest for 15 minutes. Any other questions feel free to ask. Glad we can help!!!!

Seems that the controls need some dampening/softening. Appear to be very jerky & difficult to control smoothly. Flow control devices come to mind, but maybe it is the control valve design. Not a hydraulics expert by any means, however on my JD compact tractor, the backhoe controls are somewhat jerky but the loader controls are much smoother. Don't know why.

I have a few questions that I hope you might be able to answer. 1. On the oil change, where do you get a new filter and do you know a part # or anything? Also, I want to upgrade to a larger bucket and better tracks like you did. What kind of bucket and tracks did you get? Where did you get them? I'm a total amature w/ this machine and i don't know what I am looking for. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Briggs and Stratton Filter #492932S buy pretty much anywhere. Tracks from TrackLoaderParts.com Duroforce Rubber size 180x72x41 should be about $140 a track. Bucket I had mine made by my local manufacture Top Dog Attachments 48"w x 36" L I paid $1,000.00 but I'm sure you could get something smaller for cheaper. It's super heavy duty. But it does maximize the full ability of the machine. For sure a 48" wide is the best for open grading and material moving. Hope this helps any further questions hit me up!!!!

I have a couple of LRT-23's and this is a pretty common occurrence getting too close to a loose sidehill. Never completely lost a track though, could always feel it as it popped off; able realign be reversing sometimes with the help of a crowbar. Inadequate undercarriage design IMHO. OK on flat paved surfaces, uneven rocky/sandy/gravely not so much. Driving over a 3" limb can lock the system up.
