Look. I'm a simple guy, alright? I don't care what system they play, I just want more Robbie, and all the shenanigans of these amazing story tellers, having fun and doing their thing. I watch for the players, the narrative and the interaction. The system doesn't matter as much to me.

I hope for a more classical d&d style for c4. Something more like c1.

I noticed somewhere in the tailgate the question came up about if Matt would nerf the lucky feat and silvery barbs spell in C4, to which he joked around about getting rid of them and how sb was the bane of all DMs. Its not much, but I think this might be a small hint they are sticking to D&D for C4.

I was 12 when Skyrim came out, played Skyrim and only Skyrim non stop for years. Now at the end of this year I’m turning 27 and will probably be 30 by the time it comes out. Never in my wildest dreams had I imagined that this game would take this long. I always thought when I was younger that it wouldn’t be much longer. Boy way I wrong lol.

Of course it is going to be Daggerheart. It's their own game, they wanna promote it the best way possible.

I think they'll stick to D&d but if they care about Daggerheart at all they'll switch to it, otherwise it just tells people they're not confident in their own product which won't affect the show but it does raise red flags to anyone who is looking at their game

robbie, no, look i just cant take to him and 100% it's because of him voicing prompto in final fantasy 15, every time i hear him my mind goes to 'shut up prompto' , it's not rational but it is what it is D&D for C4? business wise it makes no sense to go with dungeons and dragons when they made their own system, why would they not capitalize on a huge audience and sell their product? the only way i see them playing D&D is if they make more in sponsorship or deals to play it

Honestly, if you look at it, the reason critical Role is probably going down and happens to be wizards of the coast themselves screwing around and turning the fans against them because of their poor DEI brain cells

Robbie is wonderful and his energy fits perfectly at the table with the rest of the cast. Of course it's safe to say that people want him back for C4, but to me I think he will still be a guest. Mainly because Matt and Marisha have expressed multiple times that even a table of 7 is already crowded, especially in combat. With 8 permanent people at the table, there's not too much room for other guests to take part in. I'm confident Robbie will be back at CR (he's a member of Bells Hells and the Crown Keepers after all), but I wouldn't put my money on him being an permanent member yet.

I for one hope for an older version of D&D instead of 5e. Maybe 3.5? You can do a lot of wacky stuff in that.

I hope they stick with D&D for campaign 4 but that's just me being selfish. I'm much more familiar with, and knowledgeable about, D&D than I am about Daggerheart. I haven't watched the mammoth finale of campaign three yet but if it goes the way I think it will, and the gods leave Exandria, or descend and become mortal, I think they could go to Daggerheart for campaign 4. It would be the perfect time for the change as a way to show the "cataclysmic" (pun intended) change to the world of Exandria that just occurred. Especially if there's a time jump between the end of C3 and the beginning of C4. It would be the perfect way to illustrate the cosmic change that happened and how the world now works (and is different) on a fundamental level in the wake of that change.

It's a game that will be played for several decades. That's high expectation to meet. plus they began building prior to unreal engine five, so they can't switch over.

Daggerheart. For campaign 4. New Age, new system, their OWN IP, not beholden to a on-again-off-again dumpster-fire of a company like WotC/Hasbro. 5E/5E.24 Was fine for a decade of Critical Role. But it's time to move on, where they can create whole cloth everything they want and own it all.
