Here's this recipe in print and also my thoughts. Really good as is! (For our personal taste, I will double the onion and Worcestershire next time) but really good. 👍👍 Thank you!! 2 pounds ground beef 2 eggs ¼ cup onion, diced ¼ cup celery, diced ¼ cup ketchup ¼ cup salsa ¼ cup crushed tomatoes 2 teaspoons Better Than Beef Bouillon 2 teaspoons Worcestershire 1 teaspoon pepper 1 sleeve soda crackers Preheat oven to 350º. Mix and shape into 1 large loaf or two 2 smaller loaves. Place loaves into baking dish. Insert meat thermometer and bake for approximately for 1.5 - 2 hours until 160º. Let rest 15 minutes. Serve with some gravy on top.

Why use powdered milk and water instead of liquid milk. Powdered milk is actually more expensive.

The prototype look much better when it comes to overall size and the clip is also much better because longer. It could be straight but of the same length. Is , was or will be on sale ? Also I would leave the spine intact for sharp 90 degree edges and greater strength (for instance the BK5 also had thinner spine that made it too light and too thin at the tip)

Please share what kind of grinding paper used. Ive seen other videos where the results are very dodgy. Must be depending on the tools you have used. 😊

As a young kid in the early 70's I hated meatloaf. It took my mother a while to realize I hated the ketchup glaze (which my dad loves). When she decided to leave one end unglazed I would eat it without a fuss.

How many minutes did you toast them and was it over? Low medium or high heat? Thank you.
@AverageIowaGuyLiveStreams3 ай бұрын
At most 3 minutes per side. It doesn't take long. You just want to smell them. You don't want to burn them.
@AverageIowaGuyLiveStreams3 ай бұрын
Oh and medium heat. You'll see the chilis get softer and start to be more moldable. You will smell a distinct chili smell. Before they start turning brown pull them. It's a thing you have to eyeball. Better to undertoast than overtoast.

There is a link to the Phase Gold in the description. I think they all probably taste the same. I was surprised they switched away from Butter Flavored Low Melt, but honestly, this method with Kaola Butter Flavored Oil (or similar) produces a better product.

I'm definitely giving that a try. And getting one of those Instant Dutch ovens.
@AverageIowaGuyLiveStreams3 ай бұрын
Well, you could make it in a regular Dutch Oven on the stove top. The only reason I bough one is because my crockpot is small and my friend wanted a recipe tailored to this device.
@jeffventure60783 ай бұрын
Awesome Doc! Last time i did a simple chilli i followed Miller's advice and Meat Church for the recipe. Will have to try yours next. Love the float the jalapeño idea. Tried that with a pot of baked beans once andit was the perfect level of heat. Great vid!
@AverageIowaGuyLiveStreams3 ай бұрын
Thanks! Floating a jalapeno is a great way to add just a touch of heat. Plus you get to munch the Jalapeno at the end of cooking.

I love foods like chili which vary so much by region and personal preference. I don't think I've ever had a bad one. How is that slow cooker as compared to the run of the mill grocery store style? Is there a big difference in performance?
@AverageIowaGuyLiveStreams3 ай бұрын
It does a lot more things. It has a sear mode, which you saw when I browned the meat. It also has braising and a few other things. I just got it and I've only made a couple things in it but I like it so far. I also like that the Dutch oven is removable. You could technically just do the searing over the stove and then move the pot to the instant pot base. I got it because my other crock pot is pretty small.
