The Haydn is fairly dismal, but the performance of Bolero is very special.

Great string section, wonderful sounding, but what a waste!: the conductor did not know how to balance the naipes and tempos, evidently he is not familiar with Bruckner's music... Even his gestures are very poor...

Magnífica interpretación por la excelente orquesta sevillana y el arreglo del maestro Frühbeck de Burgos comunica el espíritu de España! Agradecidamente la calidad del sonido es muy superior la resolución del video que datará de los viejos tiempos del Betamax.

While I am a great admirer of Markevitch, this performance is not one of my favorites of his. Nevertheless, it is worth listening to, especially the second movement. Hoomeyow!!

It's an amazing performance of a completely enigmatic work. One is left speechless on how Bruckner can come up with something like that. Giulini knows this work inside out. And full marks to that orchestra too. Considered a second tier orchestra in Germany. Really? Not to my ears. Don't ever compare Bruckner with Mahler. They are two completely different planets. Thanks for uploading it..

I just don't at all understand how the musicians get that good. Nor the conductors. Nor the composers. Which doesn't matter a bean. Fantastic.

I sang in this concert too. 1978 An unforgettable experience at the start of a long career. 46 years later and he's still the most expressive conductor I've sung under out of a long list.. Thanks for posting this with improved video

I sang in this performance from 1978. An unforgettable experience at the start of a long career. Of all the conductors I have sung under over the last 45 years, he was the most expressive. He touched every musician on stage.

Nice. I also loved singing with Carlo Maria Giulini. See the KZbin clip "Giulini conducts Beethoven 9 - "Ode to Joy" Tenor solo, and to the end of the symphony, live, 1979." Greetings //Erland Hagegård, Karlstad, Sweden

Music starts at 25:30 of this video, or kzbin.info/www/bejne/aHO7aqxmbJmnrpo from the beginning. That link is only from 25:30 to the end of this video, so the time codes of that video are 25 minutes and 30 seconds subtracted from this video. For example, what is at 40 minutes of this video is at 14 minutes and 30 seconds of that video.

This has been since I first heard it over 60 years ago, my favorite violin concerto! Beethoven brings such joy and emotion to my heart and souls that I frequently feel the tears forming in my eyes! This performance may be the greatest of all time with the rapport between Sofie Mutter and Herbert von Karajan!
