My blower housing does not have the two holes for the grease to drip through. The grease just sits in the bottom of the housing. Anyone know the reason for this?
@noheasilva2713 Жыл бұрын
Yes. But how do you remove and clean the blower wheel?
@Teaelation Жыл бұрын
The fact that this company will not answer “how to clean the fans” is troubling. It seems to be a red flag. I will be purchasing a new professional style vent hood soon, but since this company does not want to answer obvious questions from customers, it will definitely not be the Vent A Hood brand!

Do you lose airflow if you vent to outside through an exterior wall vs. going through the roof? I would have a 14 foot run if I went straight up through the roof but it's going to be mounted on an exterior wall so I can just push it out if I use the short 90-degree elbow you show. I plan to get the 900 CFM fan system and I'd like not to diminish that if possible.

How do you back out the 1/8" hex set screw if it won't budge, counterclockwise, of course, even with Liquid wrench penetrant?

Like many manufactures videos, this is more happy talk with out really explaining things like: how to remove the tray (more detail and slower), show a dirty housing and explain how to clean it. This video didn't even touch on cleaning the fan housings which require cleaning.

I was cleaning the inside of my vent a hood, particularly the area where the lights and switches are, more specifically, the right hand light. I sprayed the area with a degreaser and now neither the lights or the fan will turn on. Any thoughts? Also, where would I find the model number of my system?

For instances where the blower wheel may need to be removed,follow the instructions below.Removing the blower wheel requires a 1/8" hex wrench which has beenprovided with this manual. There is a small set screw on the side ofthe hub of the wheel (A) that tightens up against a "flat" spot on themotor shaft. The set screw must be turned 1/2 turn counterclockwiseto remove the blower wheel. Insert wrench through the blades of theblower wheel and into the set screw. If the wheel is difficult to remove,the area where the motor shaft makes contact with the blower wheelhub may need to be sprayed with a common penetrating oil suchas WD-40.®After allowing the penetrating oil to soak for a few minutes, pushthe blower wheel forward slightly, then gently pull the blower wheeloff the motor shaft. Use caution to avoid bending or distorting theblower wheel and take care not to move or lose the metal balancingclips that may be affixed to the wheel (B).A soft bristle toothbrush with warm soapy water may be used to cleanthe blades, or soak the blower wheel in warm soapy water. Whenreinstalling the wheel onto the motor shaft, make sure the set screwmakes direct contact with the "flat spot" on the motor shaft. Slidethe blower wheel onto the motor shaft as far as it will go, makingsure the back of the blower wheel does not touch the motor mountscrews protruding from the motor.If the motor is too far back, it will rub the motor mount screws, and ifit is too far forward, it will rub the inside of the blower housing. Adjustthe blower wheel slightly to find the correct front-to-rear location.Tighten the set screw (clockwise) to lock the blower wheel in thecorrect position.NOTE: For hoods that have more than one blower wheel, make sur

@riflebear17114 жыл бұрын
Do the male ends of the round duct point toward the fan? Or away from it? Away, and air will flow better, toward, and the grease wont run on the outside of the pipe. (And dont ever use duct tape)

Hello, we always answer customers questions with very little delay. It is, however, more convenient if those questions are emailed to the [email protected] email account to assist by not showing the customers home address, etc. We will need your address, the model or a serial number of the unit, and potentially we may need pictures and dimensions to ensure we are supplying to your the correct document. Thank you, -

I have a 30” ventahood and have been satisfied with it, but we are now doing a kitchen remodel and of course the range is getting bigger up to 48” and I need a new hood. I want to get better ventilation but I realize that I need to install a passive or active makeup air system. I am looking for a hood system that would allow me to do this without adding new duct work to the house. I am imagining a hood that would have a back splash thingie that has an internal duct that allows me to add fresh air at the stove burner level so I don’t need to add any additional air inlets to the house....does this exist or do i need to invent it?

For a 36" cooking surface, consider 36" the minimum and 42" ideal. A 48" hood may or may not help the performance but it will not hurt the performance in any way. Gas cooking surfaces and professional gas ranges should always be used with a hood that is ducted to the outdoors.
@xxucsd11 жыл бұрын
Will a 48in model run provide better performance than a 42" one or 42" is sufficient?
@ventahood11 жыл бұрын
We'd recommend a 42" Duct-Free ARS model for use over any 36" electric cooking surface. Gas cooking surfaces and professional gas ranges should always be used with a hood that is ducted to the outdoors.
