Last year, I had a surfing accident where my board hit me directly in the face, breaking the inside ridge of my nose and the orbital bone near my left eye. I’m grateful to God for giving me another chance. Now, I stick to smaller waves and ride a soft-top board. I've reminded myself that I have nothing to prove and that life is short-so as long as I’m having fun, that’s what matters. I’m blessed to have good friends, family, and a simple life, and I’m thankful for every day. Cheers to everyone!

What's the different between a surf skate vs just loosening your trucks on a regular skateboard for the same result?
@surfcompanionsАй бұрын
Nooo. Please don‘t do that. That screw in the smoothstar trucks got invented to make it softer of harder. The other trucks could get damaged if you just loosen up the screws. 🙏

Brother I’m trying to learn surfing for months by myself. I got wiped out badly in my first month of learning. I didn’t know what kind of waves I pick and it was a massive swell. I’m so scared since, I go in the water I paddle paddle, avoid all waves and go out . What should I do

Get a personal surfcoach on a small surf day to give you confidence in the water and feel safe again. You have to gain your trust back so only surf in small waves. 👌👌and after a while you fear will be smaller. „Only thing to overcome fear is through fear.“

You can also angle the board itself diagonally over the roller. This way you will train not only side to side, but front to back balance. I also sometimes place the board in the same direction as the roller to train heel/toe balancing :)

Woahhh that doggo timed its entrance perfectly to help illustrate how to brake 😂😂 Thanks so much for these videos! I surf but recently broke my elbow and had multiple surgeries 😢. Need to rehabilitate for months before I'm able to hit the water again, so I decided to get a surfskate to at least get to feel more confident in my ability to surf once I've healed. I was quite scared, but your tutorials are so clear and really helped me go for it! Loads of good spots to practice here in Amsterdam 🎉 thank you and have a great day!

I have one of the original thrusters from them go it around 2008! I still skate it but the truck is almost broken. I think I’m going to get a new one soon I’m glad they still make them!$$ Definitely helps develop surf muscles 💪

I'm afraid of how big and deep the ocean is and how the lineup is so far from shore in the middle of the big scary deep ocean (so it seems) Nice piano playing also, thanks.

Hi, Ive been skating for years and just started surfing. And I found that I have different stance between skateboard and surfing. Even I couldn't skate well, it feels very uncomfortable to switch my stance on the skateboard. Should I change my stance for surfing/skateboard?🫠
@leeanderson87735 ай бұрын
I have the same problem. Skate Goofy, surf regular. I just kept them different because I found it impossible to switch either of them

Yes for sure, surf helmet is also a good option, but the helmet is not protecting your neck.

I no longer surf with illness but I surfed for about 40? Yrs. In bigger surf I found if you were in a bad position or come up from a bad wipe I use to laugh and it does work. I found out laughing or smiling and meaning it released a feel good chemical which sorry I cannot remember it's name. It really works to lower fear to do that as your seeing the light sight of a bad situation instead of catastrophising. Remember in double overhead a bad hold down is only going to be at most 10 seconds if that. That is nothing also never use big powerful muscles in the upper legs, chews oxygen. That is situation dependent sometimes you have too.
