I don’t know if you will see this message but my z3 have a problem when it gets to temperature it miss fires and loses power, I can put my feet all the way to the floor and it barely moves. I scanned the codes and it said my camshaft sensor was bad, I changed them but the problem was still there. I also got a code that said FUEL CONTROL (bank 2 sensor 1) is bad. Should that sensor be the problem
@alexandmachines3 ай бұрын
Hm the fuel pump and rail pressure regulator to double check? Is yours an obd 1 or 2 interface? Maybe that code reffers to a knock sensor. Regarding just when warm, sounds like a coil pack. It's tricky, because even with my girlfriend's e90 n53 engine, which is a spacecraft versus my car, it still gave her on the scanner emission sensors being faulty when it turned out to be a bad fuel pump, since it missfired when cold.

NICELY DONE - thanks very much for this video ! I just bought an old 1998 z3 that NOONE wanted to buy because of this one single flaw - the rear window vinyl had literally cracked in 8 different lines across the entire window- just like you explained happens after 15+ years ! Now I'm looking forward to fixing this window even by this coming weekend - ALL THANKS TO YOU ! -Mark in North Aurora IL (USA)

my buddy accidentally put it in pin #17 and it sparked up at him, my Z3 won’t start now and I have an EML light :( my OBD scanner won’t connect to it anymore either… what are the chances I short-circuited my ECM?
@alexandmachines Жыл бұрын
Ouch... even with the battery disconected for a few hours, nothing changes? The ecu is quite resilient and hard to short circuit from what I know. Only way to double check is if you can find a similar ecu and try to start it.

Nice !! Thanks very much for posting this !!! I actually imported a whole new soft top complete on rails with electrics and mechanics included - before learning that the back window was zippered in - as my Z3's back window got slashed a couple of years ago and then it became worn/trashed over time (I know MG's !...I collect them.... NOT BMW's.... but I'm now becoming a fan !! ), I always thought that they should just zip out...(like all the other soft tops I've ever owned - and Fark Me - spending 2 grand to get everything and then youtube ing how to do it - educated me ! - For gods sake, here in NZ nobody knows,, even the BMW dealers (read sales support) - go.... "UMMMM we can do it but that'll cost 1000 euros, let me convert that into NZ $'s for you" .... ). I realized (after a bit of unpicking), that some previous owner of my Z3 had gone the extra mile and sewed the cloth hem down over the zip in the Interior as well. Absolute legend ! His mother must have been a leader in the boy scouts (or Hitler Jugend - that's a joke by the way) SO I shall do the same !
