It’s most likely a noseband with black fluff on the bottom.

It’s actually a shadow roll. It supposed to stop him from looking at the shadow that the jump makes and focus on the jump. He gets very distracted😂.

Thank you for sharing this! Videos like yours hopefully give a bit more insight to those who don't know much about our sport. I love how you talk to him the entire ride, exactly what I do every course!! Lovely to see a rider have such a great bond & relationship w/their horse!

I keep wanting to hit the space bar at every jump lol. Love it! I rode for many years when I was young. My daughter rides now and I would love to again but unfortunately I cant afford for both of us so I am just happy to be a horse mom now :). I wasnt very confident and never made it over 2'6. I think the highest I ever did was 3 foot and probably had a heart attack doing so. Thank you for bringing us along for your ride. Now I can see what I was always missing and wishing I had the guts to do! Great job!

No offense, arent you supposed to talk to the horse while riding? because if you dont they wouldn’t know what you are trying to tell them, and horses are smart so they know what things are and when im riding i have to say “Trot” to make the horse go in the specific gait and do the specific thing. again, no offense but you have to talk to the horse😅
