Wow I understand that the desktop and laptop variants of graphic cards are different, but they perform similarly, and I find it super interesting how we have gotten to a point where an entry level gaming laptop in 2024 performances better than a ps4 while still being lighter and more portable

I think that the crisis triggered and prolonged by some past and current events has led to a slow diffusion of the PS5 and still today a large installed base of the PS4. This has led developers to treat PS5 almost as if it were a mid gen upgrade.

I think the new graphics & lighting are fine. What drives me fucking nuts & what ruins the remake for me is the soundtrack and the new Wendigo sounds. The original was perfect. The new soundtrack takes away all the immersion for me. The OG was epic, eery, haunting, & exciting all at the same time. It elevated specific moments and story beats. The new one does none of that. It's lifeless and basic. And don't even get me started on the exclusion of "O'Death"...my stomach dropped in disappointment when it didn't play during the opening credits.
