The deffinitive lighting may be better at a technical level but lacks any of the era-specific and genra specific atmosphere the classic lighting has. You gotta remember, each of the gta trilogy games was based on a different kind of crime drama.

and not just that but they have fixed most of the bugs, replaced some of the ai upscaled textures with better textures and you can now move while aiming and shooting with the two handed weapons in GTA 3 and Vice City

one thing I hope they fixed is the sprint in GTA III for some reason Claude gets tired way too quick, and this only happens in in III not in VC or SA

Apparently there's a hidden stat for Claude's stamina. you have to walk around with him to get his stamina up. I had the same problem before until I started walking instead of driving everywhere and my stamina increased.

I noticed that the optimization and performance is MASSIVELY improved as well. I have an RTX 4070 graphics card, which is able to run RDR2 at 4k resolution with the maximum graphics preset. But before this new update, the performance was pure dogsh*t playing the Definitive Edition titles at 4k with maxed out graphics settings. I had to lower the resolution to 1440p and lower a few graphics settings. That was the only way I could get the games to stay above 60 frames per second. But now, I'm playing Definitive Edition at 4k resolution and completely maxed out graphics settings, and it has no issue staying well above 60 fps. And the frame times are basically perfect. It's consistently smooth. Not a stutterfest like before.

Gta Vice city is definitely looking a bit sharper with those definitive lightings! It's really giving off those Miami vibes, especially with the pink sky in the evening, kind of like what we saw in the GTA 6 Trailer. That's just my opinion.

As a new gen player, I only like how it looks in GTA III tbh, although Vice City seems debatable. San Andreas is just too orange for me imo and the sun seems to much. Great comparison tho!

The san andreas timesyc disables sunlight shadows randomly when starting a new game, we have to inform rockstar about this, you can even see it in your video

The biggest mistake Rockstar made was assigning this project to the inexperienced developers at Grove Street Games. They ruined the game and tarnished Rockstar’s reputation, leaving Rockstar to clean up the mess and deal with the embarrassment.

You do realise that Rockstar could have simply opted not to release the game in its original state, right? And they also could have addressed the issues significantly faster than the 3 years it actually took them to release this patch? Blindly worshipping Rockstar makes you look like a goof.
