A thick spring just a bit taller in one of the corners would do wonders here.

Might want to update your tags or title to include “Solar Stand”. This never showed up on my searches for solar stand but showed up on my frame searches as i was looking to frame some flex solars. This is one of the most genius stands i have seen.

To prevent that hack, simply drill a hole through the security locking plate down into the base plate and insert a nail the plate will not slide out. If really ambitious make a spring loaded locking pin.

This is the video I've been searching for. I knew there had to be a cheaper and easier solution that would still allow easy, manual pointing to follow the sun during grid outages. A diy sun dial/shadow indicator would be cool too, to make aiming quick and accurate. Thank you!

I agree but I have to say I tried to use a broom stick to nudge it along since I had to get to the skimmer and it struck the end of the stick a few times then I just let it alone to leave on its own. If I stuck my finger through that hole maybe it would have done the same?

It really depends on the current stain of your deck, I used a paint roller, scrub and power washer, and in some areas the stain didn't come off. There is no avoiding sanding before a new coating.

I bought this exact same set, branded as INCGO I might be spelling that wrong but it’s a brand that sells a lot in central and South America. Also Africa I was currently in El Salvador visiting my wife and she knows I love tools so she took me to the biggest hardware store and I got this exact set for $12, I was very pleased and now I have a nice set of insulated tools. They feel very nice and they’re like top grade professionals I mean it’s a Third World country but regardless, I’m very satisfied with the set I love you my wife.

Hi. Glad you were able to get them off without too much trouble. I would recommend asking S&W to send new ones over because they should be perfect and you might end up taking them on and off if you switch between a red dot and no red dot from time to time.

Agreed although honestly it is not a bad red dot and they shouldn't be inflating the overall price too much for it since I was able to pick up a CTS-1550 for under $70 and I believe S&W owns Crimson Trace.

Stuff works great if you keep it wet with stripper for twenty minutes. Use a roller and keep it wet then pressure wash. Looks almost brand new.

@@goodlifehacker I spoke too soon, I did part of the deck and It did a good job with just the pressure washer but I did end up having to scrub the knots and stubborn spots.
@goodlifehacker6 ай бұрын
@@SketchybrainDthat sounds too familiar. I have another video coming where I used all types of sanders on it and got it all stripped down good. It was painful to get all the spots completely out. After this I don't have the heart to stain it again with anything but a clear stain plus we like the weathered wood look. My main concern is just to prevent water and sun damage going forward.

@@goodlifehacker lol, yeah it’s my dads deck and the plan was to strip it and use a solid color deck coating he heard was good. I got a text from my dad saying he changed his mind after seeing it dry and wants to clear it now. So I’ll be staining his deck every other year on top of the rest of the upkeep on his house.

@goodlifehacker6 ай бұрын
Sorry getting back to you so late. If you have three wires I think this is a different button as in not the power button OR a different type of power button hooked up to a relay so I unfortunately would not be of much help. I hope you made out ok. In my case it was just a simple button designed to connect two wires together so it was straightforward.
