Okay, the writing and the acting and the camera work and editing are all great. It probably goes without saying. But, for me, it's all about that apartment. That is *_quintessential_* L.A. area too-many-roommates bachelor pad. The beige carpet, the paler beige walls, the unused and unusable fireplace, the unused and unusable defunct intercom on the wall, the maybe-it's-oak kitchen/bar area--so crucial for those 70's fondue parties, the lowest-common-denominator (i.e., cheapest for the landlord) vertical blinds, the spare scattering of framed prints to try to make the place at least _try_ to look like _some_ form of human habitation, even the ubiquitous-in-the-80's hexagonal breakfast table... It really takes me back.

This is brilliant comedy. Pure gold, I have heard Brent Spiner does have comic streak in him.

When Brent finally decided to give in and drop his pants, at least he was wearing his trunk.

I was expecting a closing still image of an actual extremely prosperous tractor dealership in Silverlake. Meaning his first actual act of selflessness was a total misfire. It would have been a perfect gag to end the series.

There is a part of me that loves the fact that Brent corrects "naked guy" when he refers to DATA as "The robot guy". Many actors have very little respect for their past roles they play. For instance, had William Shatner played DATA, I really do expect him to be completely oblivious to such distinctions.

Although I love ST TNG I think my favorite Brent Spiner performance has to be the semi-mad scientist in Independence Day. "They don't let us out much!" That says so much.

I watched this when it first came out, and I'm now revisiting. Ridiculous and funny. Spiner et al do a fantastic job. That closing song is quite haunting. Music to commit suicide by.

Awww I wish they would’ve made Season 3. This was hilarious! Maybe he could at least do a podcast finishing up the series ☺️ one can hope 😊
