I just finished this install on a 2024 Chevy 1500 ZR2 Bison AEV. I'm 61 years old and it ain't easy for me under a truck anymore. Inner fenders made routing the harness problematic. The motors were wired backwards so had to splice and reverse (that's why I'm here). All in all about 10 hours to finish. In Phoenix. In 100 degree heat. Never doing this again. Thanks for the video it helped.

Seems like when i take the bike off the stand the chain gets tighter. How do you adjust the slack for that also?
@TheChapMXАй бұрын
So when I adjust my chain, I always get it off the stand, sit on it, and check the slack again. The measurement they give for free slack is a starting point in my opinion, but the most important thing to check is how tight it is once the suspension is compressed, being that's what the slack is put there for in the first place. So in your case, it sounds like it needs more slack from the start.

Any issue with wheel weights hitting your calipers? I just ordered a rim and ride package same 17in rims and the wheel weights hit my caliper and scraped the inside of my rims up. I’ll have to move the weights in and hope it balances still
@TheChapMXАй бұрын
So I knew this was a concern when I went 17s in all my research. I do know that the newer 250s/350s came with bigger brakes but being mine is a 2011 I thought I might get lucky. I don't know that I could fit much more than a credit card between my calipers and the wheels but they clear. Hopefully just moving those weights will help! I really love the 17s. Let me know if I can help at all more than that. Sorry the inside got scratched! I know that's a sickening feeling.
@east_coast_stickbowАй бұрын
Thanks for getting back brother .. my truck is at the shop now , i didn’t pick it up yet but they said they moved the weights toward the spokes to clear calipers and one wheel took a lot of weight so they put it in the rear hopefully it doesn’t cause an issue when i rotate them. We’ll see. Your truck looks great by the way.
@TheChapMXАй бұрын
@@east_coast_stickbow Hopefully that'll get them to clear! I always seem to have one wheel/tire that takes a lot of weight to balance as well. @TheChapMXАй бұрын
Its hard to pinpoint, but I would start looking at your rear control arm bushings, those play a large role in stabilizing the rear end to the rest of the vehicle. Not but so many things it can be back there!
@KolbyJackedАй бұрын
@@TheChapMX I’ve re-torqued everything to spec which seemed to help a bit and the vertical movement in the rear end. Side to side movement is still super squeaky, I’m thinking replacing my sway bar bushings to performance bushings. Hopefully that will help, I sound like an old and stiff trailer lol.
@TheChapMXАй бұрын
@@KolbyJacked I do know how that feels and sounds, haha. That may help for sure. I would think about replacing the control arm bushings myself but nothing wrong at all with improving the sway bar bushings first. Can only help. I don’t wanna say the wrong thing and get you in trouble but I honestly don’t think depth of tread makes but so much difference on sand. Maybe I’m wrong that’s literally just my guess. Why use straps for that amount of weight? Are you doing anything elss to make sure your grip strength isnt going to majorly lag behind your deadlift?
@TheChapMX2 ай бұрын
I know, it’s kind of embarrassing. Most wouldn’t use them at twice this weight. I don’t use straps until I get to that days working weight. With 7 vertebrae fused, I have to be really careful with this movement so when I get up to the weight I’m really pulling hard to do I want to put all the focus on my form. As the working weight goes up, the weight I go no straps with increases as well. Correct? Idk, but it’s what I do and it works for me. Thanks for checking it out.
@masonlenox68292 ай бұрын
@TheChapMX I wouldn't say it's embarrassing I was just curious if you were doing anything to counteract the strength lag. Sorry to hear about the back issues. Have you seen that deadlifting helps the issues or are you doing it despite aggravation?
@TheChapMX2 ай бұрын
Mentally and physically it has helped me a ton. I took it very easy when I started and have slowly built my way to where I am now. It took me a good bit to be able to get in an even acceptable form, I was squatting too much vs hinging at the hip enough. With a few tweaks and strains over the course of time it felt like my back loosened up a bit and now feels much stronger and more supportive. This movement alone has helped me so much for motocross strength which is mainly what I train for. Mentally I was nervous about it and laying in a hospital bed wasn’t sure I’d ever deadlift again but with the slow increase of weight the confidence has built and it’s helped me tremendously.

We just had a pool put up and I noticed that one of the legs slid a bit.. somebody mentioned to put this around it. Honestly, I think it’s a genius idea. I’m just wondering, is it good to put the ratchet at the bottom or is it better to put it in the middle? I’m thinking if it’s too tight at the bottom, won’t it pull the poles inwards?
@TheChapMX2 ай бұрын
My thought process was since they figured tension was best lower with the original strap I'd go with that, I just made sure not to overtighten it. That ratchet could def. rip on down on it, just don't go crazy with it. Its def. a backup not something to pull the legs inward. If that makes sense.

I’ve only seen pictures on here and no video. I hate that the original cd player was not in it when you rescued it. I wore out some Brooks and Dunn on that old radio. I went to Circuit City and got a small amp and added 2 small box speakers that sat on the rear seats. Wires were long enough to sit on the tool box to listen to outside . I got about 2200.00 on a trade in about 7 years later. I’m still sick about selling it! Really enjoyed seeing it! You’ve done a good job on it!!
