Polites' literally would have saved them from so much hell if only they did kill him!!! Honestly, Eurylocus and Polites are kind of like the Devil/Angel on Odysseus' shoulder. The good and the bad that helps him through all of this.

I was driving when I first listened to this and I swear the people driving in front of me thought I was crazy! I was screaming my head off after Polites' death! I guarantee I looked crazy! Honestly though, if you watch this and aren't upset about him, you just aren't right! He is the baby and they killed him right after he had such a banger song about being positive!!! 🤬🤬🤬

Okay! 1. "Warrior of the Mind" was the first ever song i heard from Epic and when i first got addicted to it, i didn't even know this is what it was from! 2. Polites is so wholesome and i love him so much! After i listened to all of the music, i decided that "Open Arms" was my favorite! He is just too sweet! 3. I wouldn't be able to turn down the cute little Lotus Eaters food! They are so cute! If they offered me Lotus, i would have to live life high with them cause they are too cute to say no to! 4. Lastly, also relating to the Lotus Eaters, I WANT ONE SO BAD!!! I WANT A LOTUS EATER AS A PET!!!

The thunder at the end was serving! As for the voices, they are absolutely amazing! I love the voice actors for this entire musical! I really hope that Jorge Rivera-Herrans makes this a full on actual musical! I would buy tickets SOOOO fast!!! 10/10 would recommend! ❤

one of my favorite parts of anniflamas is when we see poseidons view of odysseus after they finished with their excuses for blinding his son. He talks about closing his heart and in that moment we can see the distinct faces of the crew fade away in what i believe is a sign he's closing his heart off to these mortals and their pleads. They're becoming insignificant nobodies to him.

But why though? Why would you want that? What do you gain out of this, Poseidon? What's even your thought process here ... LIKE IT GENUINELY BAFFLES ME WHAT DID HE EXPECT WOULD HAPPEN? WHAT DOES HE WANT FROM HIM? DOES HE ACTUALLY JUST WANT ODYSSEUS TO TREAT HIM WITH RUTHLESSNESS BACK? WHAT F O R, POSEIDON, ARE YOU SURE THAT'S A GOOD-- *cuts off, takes a deep sigh* I guess he expected Odysseus to die with his crew in the end, but like in that case why was he bothering with that whole speech? Idk it's just so funny to me bc he came there allegedly to kill Odysseus and then gets so caught up in his own display that he manages to let Odysseus escape XD (Btw idk if you can tell but I had a blast with this video, just this song is lowk funny to me now instead of tragic, after all this time and all the thinking I've been doing about it.) Eh, who knows, maybe he really just felt like ranting about ruthlessness for ... some god logic reason. Oh, right, he has a reputation. I guess he felt like he had to live up to that. Ehh... Personally, I think Poseidon you should have learned to stop when someone begs and forgive while you still had the chance ... Just some life advice, Poseidon ... before you might find yourself facing the fact that ruthlessness is *not really* mercy upon yourself because being ruthless can actually have quite painful consequences. And so can a really unnecessarily grand show and showcase of power. ~~I mean, you totally could have avoided Odysseus' escape and all the troubles IF YOU HAD JUST KILLED HIM IMMEDIATELY. B U T N O O~~ Hear that, Poseidon? ... Nah he can't hear me he has seaweed in his ears. Too bad bc I am smelling a parallel ... *coughs very loudly* ANYWAY -- listen I LOVE this song it's SS tier just I hadn't listened to it in a while and this was really jarring with future knowledge. One day you'll understand why (then I'll elaborate, I promise.) Until then I'm done screwing around or I'll accidentally spoil sth. All I'll say is this song is a vibe, despite how tragic it is. RIP 500+ men, your final moments were heard as you called your captain in vain, but Odysseus will never forget you. Also, Odysseus' apology was perfectly fine by ancient Greek standards as far as I am aware. That and yk, personally I far prefer hearing someone who hurt me genuinely explain why and that it wasn't out of malice over them saying the word "sorry" and very evidently not meaning it. Odysseus wasn't sorry for what he did to the cyclops because he genuinely didn't do it out of malice; as he said, he hurt him to escape. I have a sneaking suspicion that Poseidon said that he should apologize because he wanted him to grovel and humiliate himself before he killed him. That and/or it was some kind of test whether he got the message of his whole song. I think it's far likelier he might have let him off if Odysseus had replied with ruthlessness of his own, as that is what Poseidon is criticizing him for not having. Like leaving the cyclops alive was the mistake he made... Maybe that one previous comment I made makes more sense now about how I'm salty that everyone tries to gaslight Odysseus now into believing leaving the cyclops alive was the mistake and not the name thing. It's exactly because of this. That whole "Ruthlessness is mercy" is god logic; it's how all the gods are wired so it's understandable why Poseidon does it, it's just frustrating anyway because like ... do y'all REALLY want Odysseus to be as ruthless as you? Like really? *I MEAN YOU TOTALLY COULD HAVE AVOIDED ALL THIS HAD YOU JUST KILLED--* I AM SORRY I AM DONE I PROMISE T-T I hope you at least found this comment as entertaining as I did the video (I had a great time<33 I forgot how much I love this song despite or maybe because it hits completely different now...) And maybe it gave you some fodder for thought because in all seriousness, the parallel there is not a spoiler at all, it's there plain as day for people to notice: Poseidon's overconfidence, grand show, and need to "teach" Odysseus a lesson before he killed him was the reason he ended up escaping. Which is so ironic because he tells Odysseus to be more straightforward and ruthless and just "get the job done" when he can't even get his own job done. What that will mean eventually or how that will play out I will leave you to witness for yourself<3 In neither situation killing the person in question (the cyclops, or Odysseus) would have actually been beneficial to anyone, btw. I'm just using Poseidon's own logic here. If the roles had been reversed, you can't tell me he wouldn't have mocked someone who got so caught up in their own display and been so over-confident that they let the person they were there to kill escape in the end. I mean, he didn't even restrain Odysseus while he was talking! Like a true god he was so sure that there was no escape ... and then there was and now he can sit on that. You CANNOT tell me that's not even slightly funny. And also it's too late now, I am forever keeping the tentacle Poseidon comment clipped<3 that made me laugh out loud 😂 ONTO THE CIRCE SAGA .... The giants throwing rocks are the Laestrygonians, and in the livestream canon, it says something along the lines of “the laestrygonians throw boulders at the ships” while Poseidon starts a tsunami. The Laestrygonians are also the chorus singing backup for Poseidon.

Yep, exactly, keep in mind the count of men: - It starts with 600 - 7 died by the cyclops leaving 593 alive - Poseidon killed 550 men, leaving 43 alive So in total: 557 dead and 43 alive Also, of all those 550 men that died, the ones that betrayed Odysseus by opening the bag are still alive, because they are in Odysseus' ship, so not only 43 men are left, but out of those 43 men, someone there betrayed Odysseus by opening the bag when they where right there on the shores of Itchaca

Here is a fun fact about Luck Runs Out: When they talk about the floating island, in the Odyssey book it meant an island that floats on the sea, not connect by any land underneath, but when Jorge (The Epic creator) read it, he thought it literally meant a floating island in the sky, specially since it was the island of a Wind God, and made it canon that the island in the musical is floating in mid air

I'm enjoying your reaction so far but remember that the fan animatics aren't canon - they're interpreting the music. They're lovely but don't analyze them too deeply - the visuals aren't the text

a few videos i'd check out all the animations for besides ruthlessness, in Circe saga you have 2 options for "Done For" + "There are Other Ways" these 2 are a pair you gotta watch from the same animator either Anniflama or Gigi both are great can just watch both animations but avoid watching one from 1 animator then swapping animator. This will also apply to later songs "Suffering" + "Different Beast", but you have 3 choices with Gigi, Ximena Natzel, And DuvetBox all 3 are great i prefer Gigi's style though. Thunder Bringer the 2 big animations are Neal Illustrator has a style i prefer and just absolutely adore his depiction of Zeus, but canonically Duvet's is more accurate to how the scene actually would've played out from the song. Another pair of songs to make sure you watch from the same animator is "Legendary" + "Little Wolf" i love duvetbox's the most of them, Any songs inbetween feel free to pick whichever animator you like, those are the big 3 pairs to watch from the same animator. "Done For" + "There are Other Ways" , "Suffering" + "Different Beast" , "Legendary" + "Little Wolf"

Ruthlessness is my favorite song it was the last song jorge had released when i found the epic saga and i was so distraught wondering where the next video was only to realize it wasnt out yet. Ruthlessness is one of those songs that had multiple animations from Neal Illustrator, Anniflama, and Gigi all goats.

the scene with tears is way worse when you realize its odysseus' tears falling onto athena. And, the way athena screams at the end had me in tears as she wants him to come back it feels like.

the 2 coins is why he said remember them, and also why eury asked about his fallen comrades because they both knew they couldnt give a proper burial, without the 2 coins they have to wonder decades of years until they find their passage fee for charon. its one of the worst fates with the only worse fate being dying at sea where you're essentially trapped in the river of styx for eternity.
