Found out about slinger burst and use of side sweep from this, I'm not really good with it, but now with 450+ uses it's becoming better

Unsure of mentioned but a fully charged stronge slash into a tackle canvel into fade away slash charges it. This is your second most powerful attack just below and FULLY connected tcs. A tcs that whiffs the first hit will be equal to a charged fade away. 👍

cannot seem to tackle + side blow in pc?? anyone know how??
@imaGiraffeMH18 күн бұрын
Should be able to. Im not familiar with pc controls but can you see the button prompt for side blow on the top right corner of your screen after you perform a tackle?
@MegaARFS13 күн бұрын
Left and right click map to triangle and circle on controller. To side blow we use the R2 trigger and triangle together. I imagine its prob like, E, shift, tab, ctrl. You can also remap every binding.

This made Greatsword finally click for me, Most people watch outdated guides about GS and it shows, these tips are so game changing they make GS feel like a totaly different weapon, top notch!
@MegaARFS13 күн бұрын
I rewatched and noticed there wasnt mentioned of fully charging the fade away slash. If you fully sharge stronge slash, then tackle cancel it and immediately do the jumping side slash (fade away) it carries the charge from strong slash. This hit is the 2nd strongest next to a fully charged and connected tcs. HOWEVER IF YOU CANT CONNECT the first hit on tcs or fully charge, the fade away is more damage given the single hit and carried charge plus you come right out of tacjle hyper armor. Other than that he hit EVERYTHING. 11/10 guide. Spread the word!

As a new GS main who relied on tackle as get away free card you gave me motivation and new ways to this weapon. Now I'm commited with every swings instead of preparing to tackle and evade

Only recently I learned to target strafe with the charge blade, and i wondered if it was usable on the other weapons... nearly every weapon gains something from this movement tech, it's amazing!

I'm really sad I found this a bit too late. I've mained GS in FU and now in World/IB, and not much has changed from my FU playstyle. I couldn't make use of most of the added mobility and utility moves because I had no idea how to chain them effectively, so I just sticked to the good ol' hit and run playstyle most of the time unless I saw really big openings for TCS. I managed to beat IB and most of the post-game monsters (only Fatalis left) but I feel like my experience could've been smoother and more fun if I studied how to play GS like in this guide. Great tutorial, it makes me wanna learn it even if there's not much left I want to do in IB using GS.

that slinger burst move is a game changer for me. its like a a heavy burden has been lifted from my back and i can finally move way more agile as a great sword user. thank you😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I never thought you could actually chain attacks and close wide distances with combos using the side blow. I've been only using the unsheathed roll + tackle to charge and counter through attacks and roars but it was never so efficient and effective (I always run out of stamina) T__T Thank you so much man. Still helpful even after years. I very much appreciate all of this. Like and sub very well-deserved.

New player here, Gs enjoyer. Time to learn these combos, do them in training area, then fail 80% of the time in actual combat, but feel godlike those other 20%. Regardless, thanks for the great guide!

You make it look so easy lmao. I tried practicing these moves for 30 min against a Great Jagras and I was like a drunken idiot lol Do you think a lot of this could also apply to MHR: Sunbreak? With some minor tweaks to accommodate Strongarm Stance instead of Slinger Burst ofc.

Seeing this video has reignited my passion for the greatsword. I stuck with it throughout the main story (new player here), but dropped it as I moved into AT content and found the monsters to be too quick and find myself missing my hits all the time. Thank you for the helpful showcase!

Dude, I just picked up IB as its 15 bucks right now. Right when world launched i spent about 800 hours in the game and burned out so i didnt grab IB until now. 90% of my hours were with GS and i never knew some of these things you showed here. Im guessing the slinger burst is IB update? Also, do you ever find it useful to use the upper cut move i think it is triangle + circle? I heard a long time ago its the best move to cut tails but i wasnt sure. Anyways, thanks for the awesome vid! I will def be putting in work to add this to my playstyle.

Thanks a million to this guide! among all the 10-20 mins + video, this one just short/clean/informative with actual descriptive gameplay. just started MHW a week ago, was indecisive which weapon to main and thanks to you, i might just go with great sword xD My take away from this video: after every roll continue to tackle; after every tackle continue either side blow or side slash; after every side blow or side slash continue to sling shot; and after the sling shot continue to the TCS; rinse and repeat!
