Good Idea: Thread chasing head bolt threads. Bad Idea: Waiting to do it, till after cylinder bore and pistons are finished an OPEN to catching debris. 😮

Your memory of Walter Cronkite has been recast. Cronkite was clearly on the side that was for Americans being able to vote, and against those, particularly in the South against freedom to vote. Later Cronkite sent shockwaves right into the Oval Office when on air when instead of describing this battle or that initiative he came out and said the U.S. policy of military victory in Vietnam was a failure. L. B. Johnson after that decided not to seek re-election based on ‘losing Cronkite’. $120 sounds like a lot. In my county, on Puget Sound several dozen people had lost their jobs due to failing septic tanks. Their ____ had caused the shutdown of the oyster beds. The County, in my watershed required septic permits, inspection, and so on. A lot of systems were replaced. I don’t know about your State but in mine no bureaucrat just passes a law. Elected officials do in my State, in this case our County Commissioners. Someday maybe I’ll vote for one that wins. It took longer than expected or hoped, maybe, but the oyster beds are back open. I can go down to Taylor Shellfish and buy a pint of Manilas. Better than that, I can again buy the Olympia Oyster, the oyster native to this coast. Long on its last legs, it is still more expensive. You’ve seen the old photos of Twain eating oysters at S.F. - Those were the Olympia. Back due to reduced pollution even in face of greatly increased population.

The 68 has a J-frame under it. Those frame assemblies won't rust out like A and B body cars because its full frame that goes back behind the driver's seat and can be dropped out with the engine and trans.

To hell with patina. 'Patina' is as good a term as 'sanitation engineer.' Its a euphemism for 'completely trashed.'
