I don’t have my captains license and don’t feel right about taking folks out because I would never want to infringe on a guy’s livelihood. However, I have a friend (Captain)who fishes the same waters as I do as well as waters north. He’s a great guy and always on the fish. If you want to fish artificials, fly fish, or catch big reds/black drum he’s your guy. Only problem is he can’t take out a party of more than three. If it’s a bigger party maybe I can help him with my boat. My cell is +18433602867 If you’ll text me I’ll get you his info. And thanks very much for the kind words. Kerry Browning

Kerry great video. I really enjoy the channel because you focus on fishing and talking about how the bite is changing with the season. I live on the ICW on Johns Island and have tried fishing out of Garris Landing a few times but I have found it challenging finding deep water to get out behind Bull Island. Do you have track you can share to get to the dock at Bull Island? Keep doing what you’re doing !
@charlestoninshorefishing1932
@charlestoninshorefishing1932 8 ай бұрын
I can certainly have you follow me through the narrows one day. Otherwise you can look up the “Bull island ferry route” and that will get you to bull island at any tide from the landing. The narrows run from price creek to bull island. It’s tricky. I’ve run it many times at low tide but you should really follow someone to get the correct track.

@charlestoninshorefishing1932

I believe it was “smelt” but, really, anything that you just mentioned should work. Feb is a good month providing that the water temps stay above 50. I’m pretty sure trout can start shutting down and begin to die at temps below 45. Let me know as you get closer and I’ll put you on fish.

Kerry, as always a quality production, very well done. I am very appreciative that you are giving more info on techniques, methods, strategies, etc rather than just showing hook ups and bringing fish in. I would offer the reason that I use heavier leader than main line. I find that most of the unnoticed abrasion and hang ups on oysters, etc occur there and I have far less break offs by using a heavier leader. Thanks again for your productions, I always enjoy them!
@charlestoninshorefishing1932
@charlestoninshorefishing1932 8 ай бұрын
Thanks Tripp. The leader makes sense for that reason. Usually I don’t even tie on a leader when I’m targeting redfish as they are scent feeders. However, in the winter when I’m targeting trout, who are sight feeders, I’m really fishing off of structure. Adam and I can go a couple of trips without loosing a jighead. I should have explained my reasoning better. Appreciate your support.

I had leaf spring issues and was lucky that my trailer did not completely breakdown. I looked at a few KZbin Videos and thought I may be able to handle the job, but then I decided to call a Mobile Trailer repair guy in our area. With his experience, the job was completed in a little under 2 hours. My springs were still good, but the bracket holding the springs had issues. I damaged them on a backdown launch but did not realize it for a long time. The tires were worn due to rubbing up against the wheel Well also. I plan to do a better job on watching those brackets and leaf springs going forward. I had some upgrades to my trailer such as Side Steps. Those had to be loosened and move back a few inches in order to get the brackets to hold. The slip Sleeve on the Trailer had worn out where one of the Leaf Springs keeping bouncing against. I was lucky this time, but plan to be more aware from now on. Thanks for your video and story.

So I have always noticed these days people are switching to baitcaster reels in an effort to get more accurate and have ‘more control’, but many guides still role with spinners, even for themselves. Any reason?
@charlestoninshorefishing1932
@charlestoninshorefishing1932 9 ай бұрын
I think it depends on the guide and how they fish or what they target. I’ve had a lot of various skill level anglers on my boat. If I were vertically jigging for Stripers or just soaking bait for catfish I could understand using bait casters. No way would I put three bait casters in the hands of three guys that I’ve never seen cast. That would more often than not end drastically. I personally don’t like bait casters but, to each their own.
