I highly suggest using much lighter weight stuff titanium or aluminum etc. The weight is not important only the strength of the material. This is a genius solution either way. I knew we could be doing this so much better than we had been.

I would love an aluminum/ lightweight version. The perceived gains in sustain are offset by the additional weight. Knob tweaks deliver additional sustain on your favourite gain / compression source but a lightweight instrument you can wear for a 2.5 hour set is irreplaceable. Warmoth up charge for lightweight bodies is tolerated maybe you could do the same for a Titanium or aluminum version- boomer issues of course.

Seems the only “drawback (no pun)” is that the system is not adaptable to block lengths (32mm, 37mm, etc). This is true of most other trem mods other than a standard blocker. An example is the Super-Vee Mag-lok. It works great on guitars where the block is long (tall?) enough to leave clearance for the Mag-lok, otherwise it doesn’t work well and can pull out of the block on pull-ups of the bar. Regular springs can work fine with blocks that are too long or too short for some stabilizers, so I’m wondering if there’s an optimal clearance (distance between the surface of the trem cavity to the “top” of the block) for this device? I don’t mind switching out the block if I can make this work.
@tonevise3834
@tonevise3834 4 күн бұрын
The Vaibrant guitar in the video came with a 36mm block on the stock FRT1000 Floyd. I switched it out to a shorter 32mm block to get the Treminator to sit lower in the trem cavity and it works great. The internal tremolo spring can flex in use just as the other springs do so it probably has a wider range than the Mag-lok. I also installed one of the prototypes in my 93' Strat using the stock 2 point Fender tremolo and 42mm block that came with it. Floating the trem per Fender specs it works great in that guitar too.

If I’m using 2 springs with 9’s will I need to adjust the claw for a 3 spring setup?
@tonevise3834
@tonevise3834 Ай бұрын
Maybe, the interior spring is based the springs Schaller shipped with the OFC so it would depend on what the tension of the springs you're currently using is.

Now, what about a 7 String guitar? I ONLY PLAY SEVENS, so how well do these things play with more string tension? And is it possible to use other springs - ala FU-Tone silent springs 'super heavy' tension? Very interested, maybe could use IF it plays nice with 7 strings - and heavier gauge strings! (When they come back in stock, that Is!)
@tonevise3834
@tonevise3834 Ай бұрын
I'm not sure about 7 string guitars, if using super heavy springs this probably isn't necessary.

Great device! I would love to try it out! ••• Question ••• With the Tone Vise Treminator Super Stabilizing System is it possible to have it installed with the claw being angled? Personally, I like Carl Verheyen’s suggestion that explains in a KZbin video that top guitar strings tension must equal springs tension on the back. To do this he recommends the claw to be angled which makes perfect sense. So is it possible to angled the Tone Vise Treminator Super Stabilizing System claw?
@tonevise3834

You probably could but angling the claw doesn't help with anything.

So does this thing make up for the tension loss of the middle spring? Can you pull up and dive when it's in stabilizer mode? I'd like to see how the mechanism moves pulling up and diving with the tremolo bar. Is there an internal spring counterbalancing the external spring mechanism?
@tonevise3834

It has a custom internal tremolo spring. Yes, in stabilizer mode you can go both up and down.
