That must have been a difficult garden before the transformation, I noted that the amount of water was more than would be explained by the rain. It must have been a very boggy site. The only criticism that I have of the design is the lack of privacy from the neighbour's "tree house". I would not like children gawping into my garden as I tried to relax. It is nice to see a design that balances plenty of space for planting with ample space for sitting, and one that isn't filled with a lawn. The walk through video surprised me with just how much planting area there is. It will be a lovely garden in 2-3 years.

Thank you for your comment. The garden was very boggy and has lots of shaded areas. We wanted to create a woodland theme, hence the choice of planting.

Hi Sachin, Thank you for watching the video. Unfortunately the area of grass was actually unusable because it became too waterlogged and as the garden has a lack of sun it never dried out. we wanted to encourage more wildlife into the garden that previously visited so although it appears we put down lots of paving we actually created more green areas for flowers and ferns. this has encouraged lots of animals and insects into the garden. You may have a better appreciation of the space after watching the videos below. Hi Samm, Thanks for watching. We made the changes to the garden as the before design was quite restrictive with regards to the sun. also the lawn area never dried and we were unable to use it. The below videos show how the garden had progresses over a 15 month period. I have also added a link to the original garden before we started any work at all. This was done to give the designer an indication of the pattern of the sun. You may like that one too. Hi there, Thanks for watching. We actually created more usable space with the garden after the work was completed. There was an additional patio area that made the most of the sun, a decked area at the end of the board walk where you can sit and watch the water feature and there was a lot more planting areas. you should be able to see from the videos below how it developed over 15 months. Hi KC, thanks for watching. We decided to reconfigure the garden due to the lack of sun and poor soil conditions. the patio was moved to make the most of the sun when it came into the garden. We then chose plants that liked shaded and damp conditions. From the videos below you can see how it has come along over time. When i seen them start building the little bridge i assumed that it was going to take you over the stream to a little Gazebo type sitting area. Which in my honest opinion would be better than what they actually did it would add more room for people to sit out back.
@IndependentBlogger3 жыл бұрын
Hi Joshua, Thanks for watching the video. We added the boardwalk for a number of reasons really. We wanted to get across the stream without potentially falling in. This allows us to maintain the garden on the other side. The curve of the boardwalk was to add softness away from the edges of the stone. finally we wanted to have a path that lead to the seating area at the side of the pond and back of the stone building. we wanted a reason for people to walk there and enjoy the rest of the garden. You may be able to see a better view of how it looks in the videos below. Garden walkthrough, again not long after planting - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mYqpm2t6lLF_rrc 4 months on - kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqKqdquJr5qGf6c 6 months on - kzbin.info/www/bejne/nnrNgYlpas2YppI 15 months on - kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYaxk6yrhZ6Xick Regards,

Hi Barbara, Thanks for watching. It was difficult to grow the grass as the garden was limited for sun and the ground was full of clay. this meant the grass area was very waterlogged and could not be used. There are a few links below that show the garden now the flowers have started to grow. Feel free to take a look. Just watched the series on the Motor home, really found you as I'm looking the same van, can I ask what it was like and would you recommend it after using it for your trip? Did it rattle as most do and what was it like to live in? Hopefully going to Scotland in July restrictions allowing, all booked for 2 weeks in the caravan from N Ireland. Great videos.
@IndependentBlogger3 жыл бұрын
Hi Andy, Thanks for your comments and watching the videos. I hope you liked them. there are more in the series but I need to work on getting them out. Regarding the motorhome, we loved it. Due to the season being very busy the availability of vans was limited. This was probably a little larger than we needed for the two of us but there was certainly enough room. We did try using the U shaped lounge area for sleeping but found the bed above the cab to be much more comfortable. it wasn't too difficult getting up and down. We did use standard bedding instead of sleeping bags though. There is no denying that the van does rattle but over the week we worked out what was creating the noise and adjusted things accordingly. Mainly it was pots, pans and cutlery. Put a few tea towels in-between things and you should be OK. There is a useful rail in the bathroom to hang wet coats so pack a few spare hangers and maybe a bit of string to tie them on. Otherwise they fall off when you go round corners. We also found the below really useful. They are drip mats form a bar but they were great for leaving by the sink to drain dishes (there is no drainer) www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B06XK6LCG4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 If you have any other questions let me know. I will be happy to help.

The workmanship was excellent. I think they tried to cram too much into a small space. Would I love to have it? Of course. I wish they didn’t cover up a lot of the water feature with the circular boardwalk. I saw the ghost van too. The explanation that it was a toy reflected in the window made me smile!
@IndependentBlogger3 жыл бұрын
Hi Mark, Glad you liked the video and thank you for your comment. It was a difficult decision with regards to the board walk. We had to devise a way of getting across the stream without too much difficulty. We tried to blend the boardwalk in so it would be visible and at the same time have a purpose.
