Hi Sirajum, Sorry the video stressed you out but glad you liked the result. I know it finished a but too quick but you can see how the garden has developed over the past 12 month in the below videos. The van was a reflection in the window due to the sun. @@IndependentBlogger thanks a lot! On a closer look it’s so pretty, especially the water stream, it is so peaceful :) also the hydrangeas turned out wonderful! I also enjoyed the pressure washing videos on the channel.

i like it. You did a lot with what you had. However i think people may be criticizing because the perspective the camera is at does not show how bad of a grade your lawn was on. If you stop at 3:30 in you can see how much dirt had to be moved and the water element was a nice touch. Obviously not a home where there might be young children but somewhere for adult(s) can enjoy a peaceful and relaxing space. A POV walk through before and after would have been nice.

Hi, Thank you for your comments and you are correct in all your points. we also get very little natural light so it is difficult to grow anything, hence the choice of woodland plants.

The cost to install such an area is what?

It looked beautiful both ways! With the grass it looked very natural and homey where as with the after it looks more tamed and very aesthetically pleasing to the eye! Turned out amazing! Would love something like that in my backyard! 😁

boy howdy i could feel my soul wither slightly with every addition of hardscaping but I'm sure it's what the owners wanted. Maybe it's in a chilly location? I know looking at all that rock and concrete flatness with no tree feature all I could think is "Lord I would get heatstroke standing out there for 5 minutes in the summer" but maybe in a cooler place it's nice to have all the heatsink? ^^

This looks like the UK. If so we hardly get any sun to cause heatstroke

The workmanship was excellent. I think they tried to cram too much into a small space. Would I love to have it? Of course. I wish they didn’t cover up a lot of the water feature with the circular boardwalk. I saw the ghost van too. The explanation that it was a toy reflected in the window made me smile!

Hi Mark, Glad you liked the video and thank you for your comment. It was a difficult decision with regards to the board walk. We had to devise a way of getting across the stream without too much difficulty. We tried to blend the boardwalk in so it would be visible and at the same time have a purpose.

I love the choice of pavers but I was wondering what was the point of putting up a fence where your neighbour already had one?
@IndependentBlogger4 жыл бұрын
Hi. Glad you liked. The reason for the fence was so it looked finished. Before hand we had the board going across and also the neighbours could see through the gaps as their house is higher. The double skin prevents this and allows us to tack the climber to the fence.

When i seen them start building the little bridge i assumed that it was going to take you over the stream to a little Gazebo type sitting area. Which in my honest opinion would be better than what they actually did it would add more room for people to sit out back.

Hi Joshua, Thanks for watching the video. We added the boardwalk for a number of reasons really. We wanted to get across the stream without potentially falling in. This allows us to maintain the garden on the other side. The curve of the boardwalk was to add softness away from the edges of the stone. finally we wanted to have a path that lead to the seating area at the side of the pond and back of the stone building. we wanted a reason for people to walk there and enjoy the rest of the garden. You may be able to see a better view of how it looks in the videos below. Hi Sam, Thank you for watching my video. I'm sorry that it cut short at the end, this was one of the first videos i completed and wasn't too sure what to do:--) I have since recorded the videos below. These should give you a good idea of how the garden has come along over the past 15 months or so. This is definitely a Maximalist design; it’s like the owner couldn’t decide what on what to do with their back garden so they went with all the ideas. Would have looked ten times better with out that odd decking. I did like the paving and the raised flower beds, they should have done a smaller water feature hidden in the back with a path.

Hi Brandy, Thanks for watching. Sorry it cut short at the end. This was one of my first videos so it was all new to me. Since then I have taken some other short videos so you can see how the garden has come along over the past year or so. Here are the links, hope you like it. I couldn't believe it when it ended, not even a pause to see the end result. Very disappointing. All that work, and the before garden was softer and more peaceful, the edges could have been rounded and some planting done, left the lawn, put a small oval patio in the foreground right corner with a feature tree. Didn't think what was done was worth it, over all.

Hi Carol, Sorry the video cut short at the end. This was the first film I put together and was a little unsure of what to do. From the videos below you can see more of the garden and how it has come along over the past 12 months. Thanks for watching. i somehow am unable to understand why wud u replace a perfect lush green lawn with bricks n stones 🤔

Hi Sachin, Thank you for watching the video. Unfortunately the area of grass was actually unusable because it became too waterlogged and as the garden has a lack of sun it never dried out. we wanted to encourage more wildlife into the garden that previously visited so although it appears we put down lots of paving we actually created more green areas for flowers and ferns. this has encouraged lots of animals and insects into the garden. You may have a better appreciation of the space after watching the videos below.
